1. A way to convert saves from the pc version to psx version and vice & versa. (I have one for FF7 only!)

2. A way to make the game read the mdecs from the hd without making a iso. My cd drive sux!

you could use daemon tools to play the game from an iso

I don't think that's possible. You would have to use an ISO methinks.

As for save files, I don't think there is a converter at this moment in time.

I don't think that there would EVER be a converter... I don't think that anyone is interested in converting saves... though I admit that the idea sounds useful... as for the MDECs... as it has been said, you would have to use an ISO...

On the contrary, someone WAS interested in it and he came up with Griever:

I think there will be. First 'cause they made one for FF7 pc. U could convert saves from the pc to the psx and vice and versa. Second 'cause with "PSX memtool" u CAN convert pc saves to psx saves. But I want from the psx to pc.

The mdec thing is possible with a cracked exe.......possibly a backup cd crack will run it. U will have to read if some do that. Sometimes for games like GTA3 you will see cracks before the 1.1 patch came out, that made it possible to copy the audio folder to your HDD, then use the regular cd to run it at a high speed.

PSXMemTool is able to convert PSX FF8 saves to PC FF8 saves and vice versa. It is also able to convert PSX FF7 save to PC FF7 saves and vice versa too. Oh, and while I am at it: it may also be possible to convert PC Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 and Mat Hoffman's Pro BMX saves from PSX to PC and vice versa. Check the readme.txt file here: http://psxmemtool.ngemu.com/files/Readme.txt

Also: my friend Cyberman has written an editor for FF8 save games too which is a plugin in PSXMemTool, check to out here: http://psxmemtool.ngemu.com/images/G...ters%20Tab.gif
