Age of Mythology problem

I just got this game, and it seems like a great game and all, but there's a problem : i can't see the text in the menus. See the pic below.
Its like that with the in-game menu, options, everything. Does anybody have any idea how to fix this?? Any help will be much appreciated.

edit: hmm.. I have WinME Korean vers, maybe thats got sumthin to do with it?

Try messing around with the Direct3D settings in Display options
