GC Games
I have a gift certificate to my local video game store good for one GC game. I was wondering which one I should get. I already have Metroid Prime and NCAA Football 2003. I was leaning toward either Animal Crossing or PSO. Which game should i get? is PSO worth buying if i have no plans to play it online? Any other suggestions about other games would be helpful too. thx.

Animal Crossing rocks. I haven't played PSO yet, but for Animal Crossing, well, I really enjoyed it. http://www.ngemu.com/forums/showthre...threadid=20011 I remember from that thread that you liked Harvest Moon. Animal Crossing isn't really that similar, but people who liked Harvest Moon would generally appreciate Animal Crossing. It's not a deep game by any means, but it's got a lot of character in it, and it's surprisingly addictive. Give it a rental at least. If you buy it though, you get a free Memory Card 59, which makes it worthwhile. (but the game takes up every block on it) |

I've already tried Animal Crossing out and know how good and addictive it is. Are there any other RPGs out for GC besides PSO right now? I know Evolution Worlds and Skies of Arcadia Legends are coming, but... i want to get a game now.

Ninja, PSO is a really good game, my friend has it because I don't have money to buy it myself (damn Christmas Shopping!) I think it is $100 for the game and modem adapter, I love the new ship and lobby's. hmmm i should try out Animal Crossing

Decoy, Evolution Worlds has already shipped. I would suggest checking stores for it, as the release date is already passed. I haven't played it yet though, as I am still working on Metroid Prime. You should also check out Lost Kingdoms if you like RPGs though. It's unusual, and really short, but it's actually quite fun, and it does get difficult later on in the game. It requires a fair amount of strategy. The game really isn't for everyone though, so I would suggest a rental. yeloazndevil, last I checked, PSO wasn't available in the video stores around here, and buying it isn't an option for me. I can't afford it. |

I'm having the same dillema as you, Ninja. Im knee deep in Metroid Prime, so i dont really want a game that will eat up too much time. thats why i think Animal Crossing would be a good choice because it is so non-linear.

Lost Kingdoms- I haven't played it, but the girl in the game.. she is so Dizamn ugly. They *tried* to pull of a realistic anime style face, (at least on the cover) but she ended up looking like some freaky Gray/Human hybrid like that kid from the System of a Down video. Other non-deep games I would suggest- SNK vs Capcom 2 EO and Smash Brothers Melee (even though both are only really worth getting if you have somebody to play them against). But I am a Capcom junkie . The aforementioned Animal Crossing is fun, but I found myself losing interest in it pretty quickly because it Doesnt end. You play for 2 hours and there is no sense of closure; at least with the fighting games you get a nice ending movie. Mystic Heroes is supposed to be pretty fun as well (unable to locate a copy around these parts myself), like Chibi Dynasty Warriors 3. But those suggestions are just my two cents. |

I played SNK Vs. Capcom 2 EO, the game is too easy using the GC-ism mode and the D-pad is to small and I'm still getting used to using the analog stick to play it instead of using the D-pad, but Its a really good game and Smash Brothers I love playing that game mostly with 3 other people

yeloazndevil, I actually had no troubles getting used to the GameCube D-Pad. I was playing Bloody Roar the other day, and I was kicking butt with the D-Pad. The size didn't bother me at all. But then again, I do have VERY small hands.
