After Reading the entire BGII thread , which i loved (the thread , still worshiping the game) , and i wanted to ask on opinion to another great RPG IMHO , the fallout series (1 and 2 , not the crappy FT) . Well what do u guys say about these ?

That game r0X0rz j00!!! Addictive, humorous, long, original... I love it! (well them) I preferred Fallout 1 though...

I finished fallout 1 quite quickly .. id was very fun , and the post-nuke athmosphere is quite nice .. the idea of using a laser gun to MELT your opponent or destroying his abdomen with a shotgun is rather fun . this has a very good story , nice effects , and the futuristic equipment is sweet .

Have you played Arcanum? It was created by the same people as the Fallouts, and feels pretty similar, except... well, that it is completely different!

It is a very very good game, where the fantasy world of Tolkien meets an Industrial Revolution... The consequences are fantastic... you can create your character to be a pure magicker (who can use tons of cool spells), a pure technologist (with the ability to create several gadgets, forge swords, create chemicals, assemble guns, etc) or a neutral character (i.e. if you are a gunman with access to some spells). The ambientation is excellent, illustrating a fantasy world from a realistic point of view. The story is awesome: you are the only survivor of a zeppelin crash, caused by a dark conspiracy you will slowly uncover. Graphics are really nice, also...
Resuming: if you liked the Fallouts, go get Arcanum now!!!!

Btw, Whats Your Favorite Weapon in fallouts ? i prefer the plasma gun u use at later levels ..

Lol. Yeah, plasma rifle would be my choice. I love to see how they melt!!

I eventually ended up fighting mutants bare-handed... I loved to see them make me no damage, then kick their eyes and throw them into the ground

People Say PlaneScape torment is great . i , on the other hand , Own it , and never played it more then one day . i hated it , the story , the game , everything . some ppl love it , but i cant see why .

Try Icewind Dale II, it's a mix between a dungeon crawler and a real RPG... if you liked BGII you will love IDII...

Fallout 1,2 are my favourites. I bought FT but I've never liked it. The world in F2 is a lot wider compared to F1, they both are great games though. Now I am wondering, are they still making fallout 3?

I think they might be working on fallout 3 .. there were rumors .

kaiser , is ID2 anything like ID1 ? because its engine is much worse , and i didnt quite like it as i did BGII .. but hey , a game in drizzt's home is kick ass ^^

I thought ID2's engine is the same as the BG2 engine (except that all party members are user created). The graphics look almost identical to BG2 as well, and they're good enough for me (I don't care about 3d that much). I agree that ID2 isn't as good as BG2, but few things are cause BG2 is so aweome... but ID2 is still really good in my opinion.

I meant ID1 wasent as nearly good as BGII .

havent played ID2 yet , but due to your comments , i think i will . i dont like the idea of making 6 chars .. but BGII graphics are very fine IMHO and ill give this game a shot .

IDII have slightly better graphics than BGII, but also features other improvements, such as new races (yeah, you can finally be a tiefling) the third AD&D rules, new monsters... it's a great game... IMO...

Don't know why people find FO:T crappy, probably they are too stupid to realise that it's a tactical/action-game and not a RPG.
