Sonic R help

I bought Sonic R for PC and its a really cool game. I realised however that there were no Background Music and I found that the folder where the background music is meant to be was empty, and same thing when i checked the CD.
Does anyone know where I could download the missing BGM files?

Hummm, sounds interesting... I remember playing a sonic themed racer on the game-gear. "Sonic Drift" and "Sonic Drift 2".

That's really strange. I bought Sonic R and Sonic 3d blast for pc seperately a few years ago. They came in fullsize boxes and had cd audio tracks for the game music. My brother bought a 2 cd set a few weeks ago of Sonic R and 3d Blast, and he doesn't have music. I checked the CDs and he doesn't have audio tracks. My guess is that the tracks were accidentally left off when this new batch of CDs were made. I doubt they'd redo the game to read music files that are missing instead of tracks. If that's the case you could maybe find and download the appropriate tracks and burn a CD-R with the game data and the audio tracks. I doubt there's any copy protection, and it should be legal since you did buy the license and you're allowed one backup copy.

sonicfoot> you got it from empire interactive (reload or xplosiv brand?) ? I also got a virtua cop 2 without music and my sega gt and sonic 3d blast have incorrect cd audio (cracks/pops through the music). :/
It's nice that empire released all the stuff but I wish they would be a bit more careful when it comes to pressing cds (or whatever company presses those for them).

and I do have the sonic r soundtrack...

and as you can imagine I myself am still looking for good soundtracks for virtua cop 2 and sonic 3d blast. I found the sega gt one, just need to reburn it...

Also, my daytona usa deluxe has an incorrect track on the cd (the music skips in one song) and some of those games dont start the first audio track (incorrectly pressed, but that can be fixed by reburning the game). All in all it sometimes makes you wonder why errors with cd audio in pc games happen so often...must be cheap manufacturing costs.... hardly ever noticed it on normal audio cds or psx games with cd audio.

xplosiv. as I expected
again, its great in the first place that empire interactive rereleased the stuff, and I know its budget, but i hope next time at least they get the soundtracks (and installers also) working properly.

i'll see if I can dig up the tracknames of sonic r with CDDB in winamp.

btw, does the game work in XP? it was listed on ntcompatible.com as not working...

I've played it in XP. I have no idea where the disc is right now or I'd load it up to get you the track info.

You Dont have to use winamp
Just browse for them on the cd
They should be in the Audio Folder.
