Question UT2003 OpenGL patch?

Will there be a OpenGL patch for UT2003?

Seemly the past Unreal-based games seem to run faster and more stable (for me) on OpenGL than D3D?

What about America's Army?

Hmm, are you sure? Unreal and UT never had good OpenGL support. The OpenGL support they had were only beta. The Unreal engine was developed for 3Dfx Glide, then migrated over to Direct3D but OpenGL was never much of a consideration. I doubt it's any different with UT 2003.

Eh? you can change the support to OpenGL in the INI. According to epic games (in the readme) the opengl for the older unreal was better than the D3d. But the D3d support right now is faster than the OpenGL

I remember running the original unreal tornament on opengl wiht my Geforce II 100/200 MX card. Its not much of a difference than the D3D, so i dont really know why do yo need an opengl patch..........

I think software mode is also available in unreal tornament. I think the demo version also featured the option to change from OpenGl to d3D and vise versa.........

Modify this line in the UT2003.in from:
RenderDevice=D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice
to
RenderDevice=OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice
(Or put a ; in front of the first and take it away from the second0

LOL, no seriously

Demi:
Even though Unreal/UT engine has "beta" opengl support, but personally, it worked better, 2x faster, stabler than D3D/

It does? I guess I'm wrong, I always had the impression UT2003 didn't have opengl support.

It definately has openGL. But the OpenGL support is actually slower than the D3d. Check out the readme file
