Hello and thank you for contacting Nintendo,

This e-mail is to confirm that we've received your feedback about our
web site. We appreciate your comments and have forwarded them to the
people who are responsible for the content, layout, etc. of our web site.

Also, to be successful in this video game industry, we realize that we
need to also address the desires of older players, but at the same
time, make sure we do not abandon our younger players. Nintendo is
committed to producing and licensing games for children, teenagers, and
adults. While not all games will please every player, we want to provide a
wide variety of games so the complete spectrum of genres is represented.

Some of the games already released on the Nintendo GameCube for our
teen and older players are Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader, Tony
Hawk's Pro Skater 3, Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, Resident Evil,
and Gauntlet: Dark Legacy. Upcoming games include Metroid Prime, Star
Fox Adventures, Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, Star Wars: The Clone Wars,
NCAA Football 2003, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Raven Shield, Mission
Impossible: Operation Surma, Dungeons & Dragons Heroes, and several other
Resident Evil games. There are also many games that appeal to players
of all ages. Super Monkey Ball and Sonic Adventure 2 Battle are great
examples of games that players of all ages enjoy, and sports games like
NBA Courtside 2002 allow casual fans to play a quick game, and allow
simulation fans to play a whole season.

For information on new or upcoming games for our systems, go to
www.nintendo.com and open the "Game List." Select the system and other sort
criteria, and then select "Go." From here, you can click on the title
of a game to find out all the information that we currently have
available on it.

Keep checking our website for the latest information as it becomes
available. When there is new information to share on announced games or
other upcoming products, our website is the best source! Remember, any
posted release dates are estimates and subject to change. When it gets
close to a product's estimated release date, you may want to check with
your local retailers to see when it may be available in your area.

Sincerely,

Nintendo of America Inc.

Correction on that point :

Nintendo's succes is based on :

1 : Nintendo Fans , people who enjoy gaming
2 : The Younger Audience
3 : The Handheld Market (Why not call it the Gameboy Market there ain't any other handhelds that can actually compete with it , the only teo that ever did actually compete with the GB are the Neo-Geo pocket and the Game Gear due to the fact they were released worldwide , unlike the Wonderswan , which is almost unavailabe in Europe)
4 : The Hardcore Gamer
Etc....

It's just the way you look at Nintendo.

I don't really think Nintendo's success is based on the hardcore gamer. Just like any extremist. Hardcore gamers represent the minority of a game companies profits.

that's true, although we may not want to believe it, the "kiddy market" (i hate that term) is actually a large driving force in sales. Microsoft is desparately trying to strengthen their younger audience base, and the acquitition of Rare was the first step to that. Sony has their own games based toward younger players, and nintendo has a strong selection. If you ask me tho, I think anyone can enjoy these "kiddy games". I really dislike mario tho (sorry, die-hard sega fan, old habits die hard).

Kiddy Market. I don't believe there exists such a thing. If there is, it would include games such as GTA 3, and Sesame Street. Sesame Street for the kids who are too young to play any real games, and GTA 3 for the kids who think that any game without blood is for kids.

Nevertheless, emutron, you had a good idea for Nintendo's site. I have always just emailed them when I had an urgent comment, but I suppose your idea would make it easier, if a little less personal. I find that the time it takes them to respond to an email is relatively short though.

Reason people are so blown away by a responce is because good customer support from any company is very rare. let alone even getting a responce.

Sad really.

Ninja, i consider a kiddy game to be one that appeals, well, to kids more than adults. By kids, i mean like 6-10 year olds. kirby is definetly a kiddy character. it doesnt mean that older folks cannot like the game too

maybe that's why he post it last

on the kiddy market issue, almost every child here desire to have a console! heck there are even a 10 year old that is a top fragger (with the most kill and less being killed) playing counterstrike! Kids nowadays are very addicted to games...

the younger audience is where nintendo makes money and sony and microsoft don't.
That part of the market is theirs, and such, it would only be dumb if they gave up that part of the market. So thats why you'll find lots of games that are targeted at a younger audience , but that doesnt mean older people cant play em

Yeah, marketting towards a younger demographic is a good idea. These "kiddy" games can be enjoyed by everyone unlike more "mature" games which may have too much violence or adult themes for kids. Young kids probably spend just as much money as teens on games (the kids themself don't, but they get from their parents, or from gifts and stuff like that). Plus, if you get a kid to like your company and your games at a young age, he'll probably become a fan of that company and continue to like the games and buy more products as he grows up. For example, most Nintendo fanboys are probably 19-25, who got the NES at a young age and have been hooked ever since.

I dont see why are you guys disappointed from nintendo releasing games for kids ( or kiddie games as some guys call them here). You get mature games as well. you are not forced to the kiddie ones. And after all, there is no console dedicated for only a group of gamers, a console is meant to be used by everybody, starting from the kid and ending to the adult........
