This is one of the wew games that i've seen where the grafix can rival the Q3Engine.

The best 3D Engines at the moment are : 1 : UT2K3 Engine 2 : Quake 3 engine Furthermore there aren't any real engines that could offer them competition in my opinion. As for Doom 3 , from what I've seen (Movies that is and not screenshots) has the top engine but it also requires a beast of a pc to run.

original unreal tournament engine is still better than q3 engine imo, just that q3 engine is more popular... but a few good games were made with the ut engine such as deus ex... the thief and thief 2 engines were also alright

Not technically. Technically the Quake 3 engine was far superior to the Unreal engine, which was originally designed around 3Dfx cards. The Quake 3 Arena engine was among the first to break the old 512x512 texture size limit and use larger 2K x 2K textures. The result is much crisper, more detailed textures. It also used true curved surfaces and 32 bit textures and rendering. Most textures in Unreal and UT were 16-bit, as 3Dfx cards at the time didn't have the ability to do 32-bit (nor support large texture sizes). The only thing I didn't really like about the Q3A engine was that it was a bit too geometrical. In graphical supremacy though it beats the Unreal engine hands down. Of course with proper utilization the Unreal engine can look pretty good as well. I loved the map designs in Unreal; some scenarios were just breath-taking.
