Thumbs up WTF!! FFXI coming to PC?!

I noticed some stores posting that FFXI is coming to Japan PC next month (like 11/7/02) and are taking pre-orders...........for $90! OUCH!

Please let it come to the US. I don't want to buy a PS2 just for FFXI!!!

Well yes I'v opened threads about this too, and yes the game is also coming on PC, but one thing that I also heard is that this game would be like a Multiplayer thing, and U would need a damn fast PC with GF4 TI minumum. What I can also recall is that the game would also require a decent Network connection, not Dialups pal

Isn't FFXI the online one? Will it be only for multiplayer?

Maybe, if it is then I would simply forget about it.

i'm getting pissed about Square. MMORPG's don't have a story. what's an FF without a story? making a contract with nvidia, even. Square's becoming a wh*re.

I just don't like the idea of FF online. Man, if they really want to make an online game, they shouldn't use the name of FF, that really sucks FF series. They only wanted to earn more money.

I wouldn't jump te gun about MMORPG. This type of gaming is still new to "mainstream" game market. MMORPG is great because you kinda create the details of th story as you play along, depending on how well it is executed. Look a Nexus for example...****ty gfx and fun MMORPG.

Just remember their were a lot skepticism when online actions started to hit market. It wasn't until Doom that changed everything we thought about online action games, especially FPS.

I think Half-Life and Counterstrike were what really got online gaming going.

I'm not gonna judge this game until I play it. It could be good. As long as it addresses the issues I had with playing other MMORPGs.

Yes, we've known for a while that FFXI is coming to PC. IIRC, the US/ European releases are gonna be simoultaneous.

F x F + (number) = $
That was the formula Square discovered. I wonder which is the true Final Fantasy.

You think it was HL and CS? You must be new to FPS gaming.

MMORPG is not that bad, it just depends on personal taste, but its true that most MMORPG sucks.

I have no problems with an on-line FF. It'd be like an on-line RPG with FF rules. It's kinda like current D&D games like Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights. They're not real D&D, just games based on D&D rules. I just wish they wouldn't call it FF XI. FF Online would make much more sense.

To be honest with you the whole online only thing really irks me. I mean i LOVE the final fantasy series but if its online only i'll never get to play it. Cable and broadband are not available in my area and nor are the likely to be in the forseeable future according to bt and the cable companies. DOnt square realise that by making it playable online and needing a fast connection that they are isolating a large sector of the consumer (i know a lot of people are in a similar situation by reading varios computer consumer magazines) *sigh*

I believe that..........
DOOM/DOOM 2 started multiplayer FPS. Maybe not exactly on-line in the sense of over internet, but certainly started the LAN gaming.
