My first FF was Final Fantasy 1 on the NES. I played it back in 1990 when it first came out. I enjoyed every minute of it and I beat it too. A most enjoyable game and a great start for the rest of the series. It is still my favorite of the FFs, even after all these years.
sincerely,
sx/amiga

FF7 on the PlayStation. Wasn't really that familiar with FF then. Gave it a shot and since then I was hooked.

I played FF1 but didn't pay much attention to it. I liked Faxanadu better.

Yeah, FF1 was the first FF I played. I beat it too. I liked the game, but didn't LOVE it. And yeah, I loved Faxanadu. Anyway, FFIV is what made me love the FF series.

My first was FF Tactics. And that's why I'm ignoring your poll.

The first of the FF series that I really took seriously was FF7. To tell you the truth, I haven't beat many of the SS RPGs that I've played(the only ones that I recall are Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, and Seiken Densetsu 3).

Anyway, half a vote goes to FF7 then.

Me too... Cept I played it in 1993 (Grade 3) After my grandmother bought it for me brand new at K-Mart for $10. I thought it looked like a cool game.... So she bought it for me. All my friends were talking about FFIV at the time.....

FF4 was the first Final Fantasy game I played. I'm not sure if it was because it was the first game I played but FF4 made a huge impact on me than any of the others. It's my favorite Final Fantasy and it is the game that has made the rpg genre my favorite too.

I played ff7 first. And I was amazed of the things an rpg could offer. Feelings, comical situations... it was (and is) a very complete game.

I started with FF V on ZSNES when I had my P100. I guess I'm the only one in this category.
