Commercials.
I keep seeing the last half of this ad for something dealing w/ playstation... with a guy who runs to push girl w/ a red balloon out of the way of a falling statue. Is it promoting a game or just a cool ad for Playstation? Speaking of which, which video game related ads do people like? Any links?

Yeah!
With the preacher right? I have a vague memory of it but what a classic! The best one in recent memory is the commercial for "Mark of Kri" w/ the womens self defense group... getting their asses handed to them by their padded practice guy. I love that commercial so much... :') I also saw a nice X-Box commercial online where a baby is sent flying out of the womb by the explosive force of the final contraction, and as sailing through the air, he ages... anyone seen that one?

Sony's new ad campaign is just weird, since it doesn't show the console at all, or any game shots, and the commercials themself are really strange and make little sense. And then at the end it just has that thing "Live in your world, Play in Ours". Which I guess is supposed to mean that all weird and strange and imaginative things can come true on the PS2, or something like that but even still.. very strange...

The best and funniest I have seen is the American Tekken 4 commercial. Perfect actor for the part... anybody seen it yet?

That's a funny one. I remember this really old one for Nintendo where this guy eats so much he explodes and his guts spell something on the wall, a nintendo slogan or something.

the best commercials I have seen were the European GBA commercials, and the internet-only GameCube commercials. The European GBA commercial I saw showed this guy walking into the bathroom playing his GBA, and then he walked up to the urinal and started going. (Without taking his hands off his GBA). He shook his feet off, then left. The janitor just gives him the weirdest look. (The guy never undid his fly. )The internet only GameCube commercials were just way too geeky to put on TV. They featured a guy who had to "save his hands" waiting for the GameCube to come out. He would go to large lengths to avoid using his hands. It was hilarious. |

I like the new one from Nintendo where Yoshi comes outta nowhere and throws an egg at a poor innocent car ( ). That was pretty funny.

This is the link I gave to Artoris Pendragon a long time ago on vgn for DOOM. The quality is pretty bad but he improved it somehow. I can't remember how he said he did it. Jaguar Theater Last edited by Taisen; October 15th, 2002 at 02:47.. |
