Well both games were great,....but the fact is that people hated microsoft when it released xbox,.......I should invite a MS representative to ngemu.com to see for himself the number of people that hate this company

Age of Empires is easily one of the best series of its genre (which is already pretty fun). On the other hand, I usually don't base my vote on one series, unlike some people (*cough* FF *cough*).

I agree with that,.....i find Final fantasy a nice game,...but that doeasnt mean its the best,....its just that FF and MGS were so good, they were cherished by most PSX gamers,........

Well, I agreed with Ryos that Age of Empire is one of the best series game but in overall that doesn't make it to become the best game manufacturer.

A game isn't just "another piece of software." Sure, its CODE is, but you need much more than good coding to make a good game. You need good graphics artists, musicians, writers, beta testers, and so on. Plus the style of coding is entirely different from most other types of programs. I'm sure many people who write commercial applications couldn't put together a good game to save their lives.

Kingstar, face it. MS just isn't a gaming company. You can get artists, sure, but experienced and talented ones? That's a little trickier. Besides, I think that AOE was developed by an external studio.

As far as AOE is concerned though, I don't really like it. It just isn't as fun as Command and Conquer or Starcraft IMO.

You can't buy unlimited talent with money, many of the most talented people are simply already taken and I'm sure plenty of them don't exactly want to work for MS either. People are interested in more than large paychecks.

A case example would be Shigeru Miyamoto. Nintendo's prized man.

Shigeru Miyamoto has admitted in an interview once that he has been offered ranking positions in other companies, and a much larger paycheck on a number of occasions. He has always turned them down because he likes his job at Nintendo, and Nintendo gives him the freedom to do whatever he likes with his games. He has the world's best job, and more money isn't going to make him quit it.

It is like that with many people in this industry.

So you mean that all talented artists would refuse a good offer?? i dont think so! Some of them may do, since they love their job like the guy you mentioned above, but that doesnt imply on every single talented artist,......and thats the point i am talking about

he never said every talented artist, he said there are many people who would refuse the offer because they love their current job, money be damned. In my opinion, the people in the industry that work because they want to, not work for the almightly dollar (or yen/pound/peso... haha wutever) are the people who make the best games.
