As long as ppl care about graphics on the first place I don't think they'll ever realize how much it sucks...

hmm... well you can't ever lose hope. Need for money grips them... it happened to sega, during the early saturn/late genesis era. They produced a string of really bad games (xperts anyone?) in an attempt to build a profit. Luckily, the realized their flaw, and now they create the most stellar games. Hopefully, Square can be revived as such. The last game i truly was intrigued by from square was probably xenogears.

but as far as the recent games, the charm brought by square like the games you mention become to deteriorate... like the FF series, some of the people here (well it is indicated in most threads) that FF is not what it use to be and square is producing not so good games compare to games in PS1...

still, Square have a lot of room to improve and we all hope it will manifest as early as possible...

As for FF, i think its begining to get boring. The best FF square did ( thats my opinion) was FF 7 and 8 . They just focused on the graphical part on the next FF series and dumped the plot part. On the other hand, look at the new square products. Thay are releasing new games, such as Kingdom Hearts , which are totally different than any other game we gamers played before. To sum it up, FF series was the ladder square used to climb up to the top of the Best games manufacturer. Now, its a big, respected comapany. I believe we still didnt see the best of Squaresoft yet, therby, time will shows us what they bring next..........

I have downloaded the PS2 emulator ( the one running demos). I opened it in hex editor to see how much work ( or in otherwords, estimate the amount of work) done on it. I would nt say that a PS2 emulator will be out soon, but it really depends on the progress and on the authors' understanding of the PS2 system.

IMO the PC that'll be required for PS2 emulation will do cost much. And IMHO it'll take some time for a PS2 emu to appear which can play commercial games, I mean majority of the good commercial games.

On PSX an emulator was logic but on 128-bits consoles I wonder if we are going to see a difference ? After all so far, some of the games on the next-gen consoles are by far beyond what we have seen on the PC...

a good PC that runs ps2 emu very well would actually cost you more...u should consinder a ps2. But then again, a computer also does more too.

true, but again... I don't think that the emulation of a PS2 will bring you a better deal than the real thing...

no I think it would be a lot less trouble to just go out and by a PS2. rather than upgrade or buy a new pc based around an emulator.

very true... and again, emulating a PSX was logic since its games were highly improved with the PC... but I doubt that such a thing will happen with PSX2 games...
