Ah no need to be sorry. Honestly, I started gaming because of mario. Sounds stupid?

The NES and SNES versions of Mario, a game named "Son-Son" adn tetrise GIjoe, Contra, Teenage mutant Ninja Turtles were the games I used to play on my NES. Mind you I was only 8 when i had a NES. I played very less games on my SNES. Mainly WWF titles, Ninja Turtles. After SNES I ceased to play games and bought the psx just because of fasion. Then I moved to PC games and those FPS's.

But ever since the new generation came, I find to enjoy videogames more, and thus established myself as a gamer again. And I love violence.

Syed, my story actually started very similarly to yours.

I started gaming when I was 8 years old as well. I would go over to my friend's house next door, and play his NES and Mario Bros. for hours. When I moved away, my parents bought me a Nintendo for my own, and I played it to death. I played Super Mario Bros. around the clock until I finally managed to get enough practice to finish it. I moved on to other games such as TMNT 2, NARC, Solar Jetman, SMB 3, and lots of other action games. I also tried out Final Fantasy, as someone said it was good, but I couldn't finish it. The last boss killed me very badly. (Low levels, not enough equipment, no experience with RPGs)

When the SNES came out, I was very surprised to get one for Christmas, as I didn't feel a need to upgrade from my NES, as I didn't think SNES games were all that great at the time. I promptly started playing all the SNES games I could get my hands on. My collection started increasing with games like Liberty or Death, PTO 2, and Romance of the 3 Kingdoms. (I loved strategy games). I was moving away from action games, as the NES games had started to bore me, as they were too repetitave. Towards the end of the SNES's life, I tried out Final Fantasy again. Final Fantasy VI totally engrossed me, and I started buying all the RPGs I could. I was a Squaresoft fan. Final Fantasy IV, Mario RPG, Chrono Trigger... Those were the days.

When the N64 came out, I was waiting for Earthbound 64 for most of its life. Even with the loss of my beloved Final Fantasy, I got by. I started playing action games such as Mario 64, Pilotwings 64, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Shadows of the Empire, and lots of others. I found that action games had changed since I had known them, and began to give them another try. Still, the slow trickle of N64 games had turned my attention to PC games. It was here that I played the PC classics such as Wing Commander, Civilization, Alpha Centauri, Monkey Island, Master of Orion, Starcraft, Command and Conquer, and Battlezone.

Nowadays, the GameCube has resumed the legacy of the SNES. I love it. And I will always be able to see that I never bought a console because of the fashion value.

Kaiser this may sound odd, my my brothers (7years older and 11years older) told me that I've even played videogames when I was 2 years old. Mind you, I started walking when I was only 10months old.

I may be lucky cos I am from a gaming family and all my brothers were gamers. They had C64s and Atari 2600 games.

But I remember the first game I played. Ice Climber, at the age of four.

Hey Syed, did you know that the Ice Climbers are playable in SSBM?

The first game I ever played was Mario Bros (Apple computer version), at the age of 6. I lived in a very remote area, and my family is poor. I think that I would be one of the strange ones here considering that I have only been hardcore gaming for 13 years.

But bubble bobble... I actually really want the GBA port.

SSBM has those red and blue Climbers? Do they also have their hammer as a weapon?

Yep, they do. Also, you control both of them at the same time. It makes them interesting to fight with, but it's surprisingly intuitive. I am not that good with them though. Personally, I like either Link or Pikachu the best.

Including the secret ones? That's a big list, and I don't have all of them yet. I am going to have to consult a walkthrough on this one.

Mario
Pikachu
Bowser
Peach
Yoshi
Donkey Kong
Captain Falcon
Fox McCloud
Ness
Ice Climbers
Kirby
Samus Aran
Zelda
Sheik
Link
Dr. Mario
Luigi
Ganondorf
Falco Lombardi
Young Link
Pichu
Jigglypuff
Mewtwo
Mr. Game and Watch
Marth
Roy

I think that's all of them.... Here's a picture of them all.

EDIT: Here's a link that describes each character, and their moves.
