10GHz Pentium 7, with 2GB PC5700 DDR SDRAM, and a Radeon 22000.

Nah, just kidding.

Doom III will require about a 1GHz CPU, and a MINIMUM of a GeForce2, but a GeForce4 Ti, or a Radeon 9700 is recommended.

I remember hearing about carmack saying Doom3 would run at about 30fps on a Geforce3, so I assume a GF3/1ghz will be about the minimum. Obviously gf4 + will be preferred

Umm, you have a point there.
Currently I'm saving money to buy a PS2 so that mean not possible to upgrade my computer now.

best thing to do is not worry, and just think that by the time its out the hardware to play it well will be a lot cheaper than it is now anyway

but the Xbox has dedicated hardware. Desktop PCs use a little more performance in doing regular Windows functions, and the Directx isn't as optimized as on the Xbox.

Just a wild guess:
===========

AT LEAST a Pentium III-class CPU (800MHz to 1GHz)
AT LEAST a GeForce2 (older cards will be supported, but will lose some visual flair that the more powerful cards can do. If you have a TNT2 or a V3, you're out of luck.)
AT LEAST 192MB-256MB of RAM (the demo ran at 1GHz RDRAM, but I think Carmack and Co. will do some optimizations here and there so the game can run at less than 1GHz of RAM. Not too many people have that amount of RAM in their rigs...yet.)
AT LEAST 800MB hard drive space maybe or less.

Or I could be wrong. We'll just have to wait and see when the game (or the downloadable demo) comes out.

Another thing: what do you guys think DOOM III's API will be? Sure hope it's OpenGL.

Carmack hates d3d, so I'd assume so.

I would say at least
700mhz or over
At least 256mb ram
At least a 64mb DDR video card
Hehe

And of course BaD_BURN it will be OpenGL. Im pretty positive cause most pc games now a dayz runs on OpenGL. Why play doom 3 when Unreal Tournament 2003 is coming out.

Why? Ever since I first played the shareware version of DOOM about 7 years ago, I was hooked. You can just imagine the excitement of a die-hard DOOM fan like me when Carmack and Co. said they will be making a DOOM III.
