PS2 type of Dexdrive?
Hello everyone. I'm just curious about this. We all know about a device called Dexdrive that can make you transfer save data from PSX memory card to your PC harddrive. This is very convenient, as you can store as many save data as you want. So, the question come to my mind about the topic. Is there any device like the Dexdrive for PS2, that can tranfer save data to harddrive? The is a cheating tool like Gameshark for PS2, but is there any like Dexdrive? Thanks in advance. Any knowledge is highly appreciated.

shark port sucks. i hate moving my ps2 around all the time when i want a save. i wish interact/ datel should have stuck with the dex drive idea. interact/ datel is really going down hill, their products that they come up with just sucks.

although sharkport is the only thing out there in the market... it sucks. unless you like moving your ps2 around everytime you want to download/ upload a save, that's the product for you. WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY did interact/ datel abandon the dex drive idea?

its not practical. it requires you to get 100mb zip disks and it doesn't go to your comp unless you have a zip drive and its not even in sharkport format save. so its pretty useless. so you are paying more money for stuff taht you don't need. while the dex drive idea works with stuff that you already have and don't need anything but the dex drive

Just a quick bit of info.... It is possible to store PS1 game saves on a PS2 memory card...although the method is not useful (depends on your purpose we suppose) Files can be transfered using the PS2's memory card browser....the problem is that even though you can store PS1 games on a PS2 memcard..you cannot boot the save from that memcard...you need to transfer the data back into the PS1 memcard in order for it to work.... The only practical purpose we see in using this method is if your strapped for cash and only want to buy 1 PS1 memcard and own a PS2 memcard...If the PS1 memcard becomes full you can swap out saves and replace them....then again the PS1 memcards are fairly cheap....and some are lucky enough to own a DEXdrive.. As for Sharkport...It is pretty good....Gamer1 makes a good point about having to move your PS2 near your computer...but it isn't half bad..It's fairly easy to set up.... Also if your inventive...heh...We took our PC that we use a lot for emulation. Got a cheap S-Video hub (Got a couple of consoles hooked to it...we are addicted..what can we say)...Attached one S-video open port to the "TV-Out" graphics card. Wonderful setup we tell ya..We can transfer PS1 and PS2 saves back and forth using Sharkport with ease...then at a push of a button...back to gaming |

you know it is possible to save psx games to a ps2 memcard (only works on the ps2 console). I have actually done it before, somehow. i did it with the sony 8MB card. as long as you don't put ps2 saves on the card... you can use it to save, up to 15 blocks of saves anyway. or as long as you don't format the card to ps2 format. you can save ps1 games on the ps2 memcard using the ps2
