Question ToD2 ending back to beginning question?

I just completed Tales of Destiny 2 (nice ending, but could have been longer). After beating the game, the game asked me to save, and I saved my game afterwards, and it told me to insert the first disc. In the "Load game" menu, I noticed and asterisk mark next to my save data of the ending. I never notice that mark there before. But basically, when I loaded the game, it only took me back to the beginning of the game (much like start the game over).

Anyway, does anyone know what that asterisk is doing there?

The asterisk means that you have finish the game. That's all.. Btw, look at the FAQ in www.gamefaqs.com to see what you can do after you have finish the game. I cant remember cause I had finish this game half year ago.

Thanks for the help, but even gamefaq doesn't have anything about "*".

nevermind, found out what it was.

It just unlocks one of the dungeons that was inaccessible in the game.

That's right. If you have finished the game, and replay it again using the ending save file (with asterisk *), you can now access the secret dungeon of the game, the Nereid Labyrinth. I have never saw this actual dungeon myself, but if I have times, I'll try.

I think it also enables a new difficulty settings in the options menu, "hardcore", which IIRC can get you something different if you have it enabled when you fight Cless.

the nerid dungeon is tough since you have to play levels with just one character and you cant use the same character on all of the levels. its pretty cool.

Some people said that it's quite hard, although may not as hard as Star Ocean 2 Cave of Trials, but the difficulty is quite reasonable.
