To Treasuer/Shooter fans with a Dreamcast!!
http://www.eden.rutgers.edu/~tfahs/ikaruga_stage1.avi http://www.eden.rutgers.edu/~tfahs/ikaruga_stage2.avi http://www.eden.rutgers.edu/~tfahs/i...3-prologue.avi It's an arcade shooter from Treasure which will be released soon in Japan in limited quantities for the Dreamcast.. Quoted from a thread from segaxtreme: Here's the basic gameplay premise: Everything in Ikaruga has either dark or light attribute, including the gun fire. You can change your ship from dark to light. You absorb fire of the same attribute which will power up a super laser which canbe unleashed whenever, but fire of the opposite attribute will kill you. Your fire does double damage to enemies of the opposite attribute. You get scoring bonuses for chains of consecutive enmies of the same attribute. This game seems to be a follow up to the legendary Radiant Silvergun on the Sega Saturn.. Anyone seen this game in US arcades? I love Treasure games..

as far as I know Ikaruga was only released (the coin-up I mean) in Japan and yes, it is kinda like a Radiant Silvergun succesor, for the pics I've already seen the game look really outstanding.

Actually, I heard that the game would be released as a sequel to Radiant Silvergun. I take it from this response that it really is a good game. (I never played it, but I have heard good things) Anyway, I would just like to add that if you don't have a Dreamcast, you will be able to play the game on GameCube as well. |

Check it out right here. http://cube.ign.com/articles/367/367914p1.html Improved over the DC version too! (Although you might have to import it. )

A shooter is not worth buying a system for, so im gonna go Ikaruga-less.

unless you have played Radiant Silvergun you wouldn't understand the greatness of this title... and while the GC still has a long way to go, all the games it has until now rocks and they do it from the very first day they were released... now, can PS2 say the same thing (I mean, sure, it's starting to get pretty good games but... after 2 years in the market).

Aw come on. Ath the PS2 launch, they had Fantavision, and a year later they had Onimusha. It wasn't that bad. (LMFAO) Decoy, you are truly missing the point. I wouldn't buy a GameCube for that game alone either. Or really any of the other GameCube games that are out right now, or coming out shortly. It's when you look at ALL of the games together that you see how great it is. I have played just about every GameCube game out, and aside from the Disney, and the sports titles, (I hate sports games), they are all very good games in their own little ways (except Spy Hunter). Now I have played a small fraction of the PSX/PS2 games available, and I have been far from impressed. The good titles are usually pretty good, but the average game is complete crap. (Spy Hunter was a PS2 port....) |

my idea of a good gaming system is far from the PS2, and just as you stated they had 2 great games... in a WHOLE year. Sega's dead DC had lot of great games in a year and so does Nintendo with its GC.

Zelda, mario, and metroid are the games that are gonna sell all the systems.

1080 Snowboarding? Talk about a terrible game... As for Ikaruga, I'm sure its been released already because news of the release is a few months old already and i've seen it posted a few times on newsgroups. |

MGS2? Talk about a terrible game.... I liked 1080 Snowboarding, but truthfully, I like SSX Tricky better. But there are still lots of fans of the original game, even if you yourself didn't like it. |
