Final Fantasy 7 PC Version Problem

Okay I installed the game and configured it fine now i enter the dc 1 and the menu is shown i select new game and nothing a black screen ... I use WinXP and my hardware is in my sig...
Oh does it work in XP??If not how to make it work??THX

Yeah I downloaded it and nothing same black screens!
When i start the game I have a ablack screen and when I press ESC I have the menu I select NEW GAME and same black screen maybe someone can send me a save on the first CD the best would be at the start of the CD THX

Try getting RivaTuner and enabling 8-bit palleted textures in order to run in hardware mode.

Final Fantasy 7 installs DirectShow (which contains a certain codec) to play back the movies. For some reason it doesn't install on Windows 2K and XP (I think it's already installed so it automatically skips the installation). For Windows XP you need to download the proper codec to view the movies.

I'll send the codec to your hotmail account. Just download it, unzip it and run the setup and it'll install the codec.

Oh thx alot Demigod but I reinstalled the game with directshow files included and everything is fine thx alot anyway the game runs good oh bye the way why there's no 32 bpp mode and when i enable 4x FSAA the 2D backgrounds become splitted in squares after the 1.3a patch??

That's a known problem with FF7 and FSAA on GeForce 3/4 cards. I don't think there's anything you can do about it

Hey, good to see u enjoying it. The codec thing is the same with Crimson Skies. It's funny how a game published by Microsoft doesn't work in the latest Microsoft OS
