Do you play female or male fighters first?

When you play a fighting game (Street Fighter, Guilty Gear X, Mortal Kombat etc.) do you play as the female or male figthers first?

For example, when you first played Street Fighter Alpha 2 did you select a male character like Ryu or did you select a female character like Sakura?

I have my answer, but I am curious what others think.

Since I mostly use Male character on my fighting games, of course I would start with a male character.

Depends on the game. For Street Fighter I usually pick male characters like Ryu, Ken, Akuma (yes, I'm a Shoto fighter

), and for a game like Vampire Savior I mainly pick Morrigan or Lilith. For Garou and SS4 I usually play male characters (Terry and Haoumaru, respectively). Not that I have anything against female characters in those games, I just go for whoever is the best fighter.

I select male characters at the first time. I seldom select any female characters and refuse to use those female characters with hentai looks, eg, the female characters in DOA series.

I'm cheap. Female characters first. I have a good excuse too: they usually play faster, and I like that.

So I guess you won't be playing the DOA volleyball game...

To be 13 and cautious...

So for my preference, when I'm done playing with the male characters, I use the female characters. Usually female characters have more speed than the guys but the guys have more power, and I'm a "more power" type of person... but I like to mix it up when I'm bored.

in sfa guy and vega are the fastest characters while the best to play as are akuma ryu and ken... and maybe gen if youre good with him

in SFA3 I pick Juli cause she rocks, in Soul Calibur I mostly play with Sophitia and in Vampire Savior I'll go for Jedah... so as far as I can see, I pick females char....

i allways play with male chracter because after sometime i know about there moves.female chracter are hard to play.for eg if you take 'k'(king of fighter)it is very easy down,fowrad and
punch

Back to the topic. I don't select fighter because of their sex. My pick usually depend upon their agility and style.

Even though I'm a guy, I always go for the girl characters first. Also in PC and other type games (esp online) where you control appearance I always choose the female model. Why? Macho guys hate getting beaten by a girl, even if it is just a video game. Haha.
