Favorite Genre?

I guess mine would be Action/Adventure or RPG. But I know a lot of people who hate games like the Final Fantasy series.

RPG all the way! i cant get enough of a well written RPG. it brings out so many emotions in you, that you never would have expected from a mere game.

Adventure genre is my favourite, I am talking about the RE one. And also the Monkey Island types. Last but not the least, wrestling.

Honestly, I think anyone who hates RPG's are truly ignorant. I'm sorry, but if someone perfer a mindless game like Tony Hawk or Halo over a thought provoking, intricate, masterpiece like FFX, then they are truly ignorant imo.

Yeah. I like survival/horror games. But lately they haven't been that great. I have RE for GCN and it was a cool game but I laughed through it. I want something scary!

well crono trigger and FF3/6 got me hooked on RPGs. those are still like the best stories in RPGs around today.

I tried Silent Hill and SH2 but not Fatal Frame. Isn't that the one where you have a camera?

Yup that's the one. I am yet to try it myself but I've been told that it is even scarier than SH2.

I do like RPG's, but I am hooked on fighting games right now.

Not only are they ignorant, but impatient too. Most gamers today just want immediate action, and they will not be able to wait for anything which has more than 5 minutes of cutscenes or story-telling (RPG's).

favorite genre ? easy question : RPG not all not every FF but almost every existing RPG (the ones with great stories that is)... BTW I've read trough this thread that those who don't like rpg are "ignorant"... should everybody like the same genre we will be stuck with only one genre (would you like that ?), I never got to understand humanity's behavior (that's why I hate humans *smiles*)... so... whatever.

To respond to the captains post, I think people who hate RPG are not so ignorant, maybe they just don't like long hours playing a certain game... or are busy in their gimmicks than to spend a lot of hours in front of the console or PC. Well its about taste... if you like the game, then you stick with it right.

You are correct Quatro. It is what you like that counts. As long as you are satisfied with it, then it is right for you. As for me, I like RPGs, Action/Adventure (Bad Blood and Times of Lore come to mind) and Arcade games (all kinds). I don't particulairly care for fighting, racing, sports, or stratagey (like where you controll whole armies) games. I also like Survival/Horror and FPS games.
