X, legends, battle network, Zero... what about the original Megaman?

This is it... I'm kinda tired of waiting for Megaman 9... Capcom is all happy making new games and using the name of our hero to create new series and new types of game and new bosses and stuff, but... what about the original series? When will we see how the normal series is connected to the X series? And that's not all. Capcom is doing it again. They havent' even finished the X saga and they're now creating the Megaman Zero saga, where Zero is activated once again and who knows when this expansion is going to stop. I'm not saying that I don't like the new Megaman games. I loved Legends, battle network... well, all of the sub- series. But it would put my mind at ease to see the original Megaman, the first virtual hero I played with, the one who introduced me to this wonderful world of videogames, beat Dr. Wily once and for all, before we face new enemies with new powers...

i like the original mega mans! the first one i ever played was 2 and i thought it ruled. people say that it was one of the hardest mega mans. and i beat it! *feels proud*
but i dont know when or if mega man 10 is coming..

err. i thought capcom said that megaman and forte was the last of the megaman classic series. i guess megaman 10 will never come out. they just stopped it there.

Yeah rockman 9 a.k.a Rockman and Forte is the last of the classic series,as you can see X in roman means 10 so the X series now are part of the classic one

But if you look to the "press start" screens in Mega man games, from megaman 1 to 7, they used roman numbers (Megaman II, Megaman VII...), but when Megaman 8 came out, they used normal numbers, probably to avoid confusions when megaman 10 appeared. I had no idea that Capcom has said that, about Rockman and Forte being the last one of the series, are you sure about that? If that's the case... (sighs)...

actually the last chapter of the classic mega man was the Mega Man Battle or something like that. It was a fighting game in wich you could play as Mega Man, Proto Man or Forte, it was released only on arcade machines and it ended with Mega Man's death (I think, I haven't played it in a long time)...

So far, mega man power battles/fighters are the only games that connect the old megaman series with the new one.
But I'd really like to see another mega man part, mega man 8 was really enjoyable and far superior to any MMX game released lately in terms of level design.

Mega Man X is NOT Mega Man 10... the only thing I could say is that capcom never bringed a real close to the classic series and most likely will never do it...

Finalbuster why dont you look at some megaman fansites or something to that matter because rockman and forte is actually megaman 9 and megaman x is mega man 10 you need to know the story line and such you know x is the roman numeral for 10

No, no, no, X is NOT Mega Man 10, where did you get that idea ?... Mega Man X was released few months after the relese of Mega Man 5 (or 6, I don't remember)... so it's imposible based on your theory of the roman numbers. BTW it's not X because of 10 but just a new spelling (like mega man Xtreme or legend)...

megaman x is a different series. megaman x and megaman are different robots. if i remeber the megaman cartoon had some episodes with both. and they were VERY different.
