Well LordDante, i don't think you really should create this thread just to ask that, but as you can see most people here play rpg cause it's more pleasant (for them) to make use of their consoles, and in rpg's you can comment more elements, like spells, graphics with the magics and many other things and well, you can see many threads with fighting games and others genres, there was no need for doing this...

well what i think is so great about rpg games is that the games has great music, story line n graphics. n u actually play the story, not like fighting games where u finish a fight n READ about what happened next.

I only play RPGs when I'm in the mood (nowadays I'm hardly in the mood). They take up a significant portion of time and dedication to complete. Nowadays I play a lot of PC games like Yuri's Revenge and Warcraft 3. I've also gotta try Dungeon Siege and I'm thinking of getting Neverwinter Nights.

I also play other games besides RPGs, but let's face it, RPGs are the most popular genere of game compared to others. That is why there is so much talk and discussion about them here. Demigod, I suggest you get and try both DS and NWN. I'm sure you will enjoy both. |

RPGs are probably the easiest and most fun to talk about for a lot of people. It could be why they take up so much room in topics. But a lot of us still love other genres just as much.

Yeah. They have the best stories to me at least. Other games can have stories but RPGs have the deepest kinds.

Also, for me a good RPG is like read ing a good book and enjoying read goood books, always have and always will. The nice difference is that with the RPG you see what is happening and you make the decisions, with a book you must imagine what everything looks like, which is not bad at all, and of course all the decisions are already made. So for me RPGs are a natural extension of my love of reading. sincerely, sx/amiga |

I have always been an RPG gamer, even when it wasn't cool to be one. RPGs have more depth than other types of game meaning that they are more fun to talk about. But that doesn't mean that's all that we play. Currently I am playing Eternal Darkness, Xenogears, and GTA 3 PC. |

I'm playing Final Fantasy VI on SNES, Final Fantasy II on NES, Beyond The Beyond on PS, and Starcraft Broodwar on PC. It's very fun.

RPGs have always been and always will be my favorite type of games... the music, the story, the gameplay, the graphics... i love it all, they are the kind of games that when they are done right, can have you hooked till hours end, and that you want to show to all your friends. Fine examples of this are Final Fantasy 6, Chrono Trigger and Skies of Arcadia. I just recently bought NeverWinter Nights and I'm trully enjoying it, and with the Toolset well see very neat things in ther future for this game. As much as I love RPGs, I also play almost every genre out there. Right now I'm hooked on Counter Strike and when ever i get the chance I got to my friends house and play some rounds of Super Smash Brothers Melee, and I used to play a lot of Age of Empires and Need for Speed 3, and I've also been known to enjoy the ocasional Platformer. Now I'm looking foward to buying Warcraft 3. In my personal opinion, RPGs are the best... but I enjoy every genre. Remember any game of any kind has the potential to be great!!
