Stuck in dragon warrior VII

I'm stuck and I could use some help. I think I'm missing a land shard (or thats what the faq at gamefaqs says).

I've just completed the achitects tower in the present and when i go to place the shards I seem to be missing one.

The next quest is suppose to be to avon.

I think I've gotten all of the recent shards so I'm lost. the save file is the last one on the memory card.

i think thats the shard but i cant find it. grr. any helps appreciated.
