Post Metal Gear Solid 2; Rate it.

I have a little cash in my pocket and I am deciding to pick this one up, as non of my friends have it.

SO here I am asking for a little advice from you ppl. I have read reviews of this game everywhere and my favourite reviewer IGN gave it 9.7, but I have heard from a few ppl that this game ain't good enough. SO I want to clear up the things.

Moreover, discuss this game and rate it by considering it as an original game, not relating it to MGS1 on the PSX.

The questions I have:

* What's the view, third person? follow cam?

* What kinda puzzles are there? Do they need logic to put together?

* Amount of fighting in the game. Is it too much? I prefer stealth silent takedowns, which IGN says is present in it.

* Whats the time period? I mean is it Past, present or future?

Thanks for your time.

The view is all kinds...i guess...Puzzles....hrm...i never seen n e puzzles in the game...but its really hard to finish the game, since u have to be stealth all the time. There are stealth silent takedowns...but if u really want to know about the amount of fighting or shooting that depends how good u are at the game. I guess te time is present.

Yes there is stealth close to impossible to beat with some.It set in the present basically. No puzzels. 3rd and 1st person views are used. Overall not a bad game not great game. I beat in a week my brother beat in a week on hard and on my second try thorugh it took my 4 hours to beat.

I'm sorry, but there's no way you can beat this game in under 4 hours. Even if you do skip all the cut scenes, the sheer amount of tasks and backtracking will ensure that it will take at least a solid 8 hours to beat.

Now as for the game itself, I would consider near close to perfect. From the gameplay to the graphics to the sound, everything just screams high quality production values and close to perfection. Overall I'd give it a 5 out of 5.

The game is easy on easy and if you have played it before it is realy easy. Not mention there is no replay value of this game what so ever and with a maxim of 20 to beat it. I can't see how it would be perfect.

Well MGS2 is like what it said on its name: its a solid game... but on a hard mode, it's quite amazing that you beat the game in 4 hours! I think you played it a couple of times to get near perfection of every move and tactic and then come up with that best time.

I give it a 4.5 (excellent) though it's a bit tough (at least for me), but there's the challenge, right?
Anyways, there are ppl claim that this game sux0rz but I think they (or at least, some of them) have never played this game before.
Don't forget that MGS2 Substance will be coming soon.

the game was presented very well, it is quite similar to the first mgs, but it has a new "feel" to it, if u can accept that word. The only problem might be the story... it was a little too far out... i think kojima tried too hard in making a twsiting story and ended up creating a lot of garbage toward the end... but overall, it was a really good game! i highly recommend it

Substance has EVERYTHING that MGS 2 has.

Substance is about the same as Integral was for the first MGS. (Integral bundled the VR missions and the actual game in one package. It was only released on the PC in the US.) One last time, I will say that there is absolutely no reason to think that Substance is not as good as SoL in any way. Actually, I think that Substance might redeem the game somwhat.

Anyway, I would just like to say that I gave MGS 2 a 3. I just couldn't give it a higher rating. The story just sucked that bad. It also featured the most insipid character ever for the main character. I just hated him more than anything. I would have given the game a 2 if the gameplay weren't so fun. The open endedness of the game and the amount of things you could do were pretty cool, but since that is all there was to the game, I can't give it a higher score.

In the end, I think you are better off with the demo. The only level I thought was close to perfect was the first level, which was the tanker level. That level sucked me into the game, but it degenerated rapidly from there.

It is but a small part of the game...bear with it
Besides, it is when close to the end too....where the plot screws up.

Definately get the demo Syed. You won't be sorry that you did. The full version just kind of sucks, and the demo has all the fun parts in it anyway.

Rei Fox, Substance should be good. It should take out a lot of the suckiness of the game. (such as having to look at and listen to Raiden, and you can have the sword from the beginning of the game). It the same as the first version, but with a LOT more features.

Syed, if you decide to buy the game, wait for Substance. You won't be sorry you did.
