Dungeons in RPG
Do you like the dungeon part in RPGs? What is the longest\worst dungeon you've ever finished? And do you know RPGs almost without dungeons ? |

One of the longest Dungeons I ever did was the final one in FF1 on the Nintendo. There were five levels, one for each of the four bosses and the fith level where you fought the final boss. The problem was, you had to do the whole thing all at once. If you went out and saved after doing a level, when you went back in, you had to do the level all over again. As for a game w/no Dungeons, there are two that i can think of. They are Bad Blood (C-64 and Amiga) and Times of Lore (C-64, Amiga, and Nintendo). As for whether or not I like the Dungeon parts, yes, actually I do. I think they add to the game and give you an extra opportunity to get items, treasure, and experience. sincerely, sx/amiga |

The dungeon part in chrono trigger was a bit hard, the one where you are in total darkness and have to walk in precise motion to get out of it.

Star Ocean 2! (~sob~) The dungeon is thirteen floors long and the bad guys are impossible on the last few floors. Your whole party needs to be something like level 190 in order to just keep your head above the ocean of enemies that you face. It's called the Cave of Trials, ever hear of it?

Tales of Destiny. If you don't have a walkthrough, you'll get lost in the place in the sky (I forgot the name but it is where you get teleported) Those random enemies are quite ANNOYING if you get lost!!!

Phantasy Star 2 (mega) have some giant dungeons, and sooo many of them... The game with most dungeons i played is Lufia 2 (snes), but they are fun. Final Fantasy 8 don't have many dungeons.

Dungeons? Let see... Cave of Trials in Star Ocean: The Second Story (also known as the Heraldic Ruins). Yes, this dungeon is very hard. And can be considered the most hardest between secret dungeons. Even Valkyrie Profile's Seraphic Gate, Grandia's Tower of Temptation, Tales Of Destiny's Tower of Druaga and Jade Cocoon's Eternal Corridors cannot beat it. I have never tried Tales Of Destiny 2's Nereid Labyrinth. Has anyone tried it? How was it?

random enemies are really annoying, that's why its sometimes annoying to play Tales of Destiny because the dungeon is a maze and there are always random creature popping out.

i hate dungeons to. Usually the random battles piss me off to the point i dont want to play anymore. I usually just runaway because after awhile it gets so pointless. But they can be good for level raising but i dont really enjoy that.

I don't think there are any RPG without dungeon. It should have at least one, and at least a short one. If it didn't have any single dungeon, I doubt that it would be called an RPG then. Unless you are playing strategy RPG like Final Fantasy Tactics or Front Mission 3.
