worth the price...
i think bout that a LOT after playing games and as sorry as i am, the only game that has fit into that category in the last few months was final fantasy x
im no fanboy or something, but its the only game that kept me playing more then 100 hours and since its a good game apart from that i claim it to be worth the money i paid.
ah, and dont buy grandia 2, if ANY game is not worth a single buck its that one, HMPH

Just to clear things up, MGS2 = MGS2, no matter what the next part says. Substance is only different in that the game is more finished than Sons of Liberty.

Anyway, I would recommend these PC games.

1) Starcraft
2) Alpha Centauri
3) Fallout
4) Wing Commander (any game)
5) Freespace (1 or 2)
6) Knights of Xentar

Florindel, yes that is exactally what i am saying. As Lord Kane said, they are dated compared to todays games, but if you get a hold of the enhancements for them, they are as nice as any you'll see. As for understanding them, it is easy, you are stranded or exploring some where and you run into monsters. You must kill the monsters if you wish to survive. The neat thing is that you do this from the first person point of veiw. That means that it is like you are actually there looking out through the character's eyes. You don't know what is around a corner or behind a wall, or... If you try one some time, you'll see what I mean.
BTW one other game that I left off the list (accidently) is Return to Castle Wolfenstien. World War II lives again.
sincerely,
sx/amiga

hmm... i never really liked the baldurs gate series... they were fun at first but got boring for me, same with icewind dale... i havent played neverwinter nights so i cannot say anything about it... but deus ex is a must have... made me think of government conspiracies in a whole new possible and do-able way plus the music was excellent, some of my favourite music from any games
