Computer Games 4 Computers, makes sense

Don't any of you people talk about Max Payne?
Its a game which SHOULD be talked about
Instead of Emulators we should test our computers to the max using pc cd rom designed games

wot u say?

Max Payne gets boring after a while...
You just repeat the same moves to advance in levels. It was fun for the first few hours playing it though.

Max payne is a good game but it ain't that good to have its own forum!

BTW nothing can match the fun of emulating a system. And I said emulating, playing a game on an emulator is another fun.

Yeah, TTD is a great classic game
With the new released patch, we can play it in WinXP.
BTW, May Payne is a great game indeed, I love that game.

Max payne is an excellent game but it was a bit too short.
But GREAT Graphics. I also liked the story. The ending woz a bit of a sudden twist that didnt suite the game i think.

Anyway I hear of a Max Payne 2....

Why use PC games to judge your PC? After all, PC games were written for the PC weren't they? So they should run on it shouldn't they, unless the game has certain requirements and your system does not happen to meet them. To me, the real test of a PC has become how well it can run something that it was never designed to, like PSX, SNES, Genesis, etc. As far as I am concerned, this is what really seperates the "men from the boys" as they say.
Cardinal808, what in the world are you talking about? As Evil Squall said, this is the Games Discussion Forum and all types of games may be talked about and dscussed freely here. That is what this froum is for, Games Discussion.
sincerely,
sx/amiga

maybe we should take this discussion elswhere...
here's something of mine

did you notice some of the games made for the psx and then transformed for the pc--same case with ps2 and pc

let's use mgs , cos i think most of you played it and seen it on a pc
now, i first played it on a regular TRUE grey box..nice
then it came on my pc...i had some troubles with the pixelated icons but hey
then i used epsxe..put everything out to max and i still think the emulated version looks better! your opinions please

since i said about ps2..take a look at red faction for instance

the games are probably alike on both systems...the length and the playability.since i didn't see the game on an actual ps2 i cant say how good/bad it is...

so now we know it's possible to make a ps2 game come to life as a pc game
and the question is....

WHY ARE THEY WAITING WITH MGS2 AND FF10:shout: :shout:

I have to disagree on this point. After all you wouldn't run 3DMark to test a computer designed for running databases. I think the ultimate test of a PC's power is running a cutting-edge PC game. They're chock-full of multi-media and throw thousands of vertices and textures around every second, stressing not only the CPU but the memory and graphics card as well. Programs like 3DMark and Aquamark exist to stress the computer to its limits, to test its full power. Running an emulator cannot put enough stress on the computer (especially in the graphics department) to truly stress it, nor can it take full advantage of the PC's features to adaquately measure its power. This final point is especially true for processors like the Pentium 4, which run extremely slow compared to its predecessor but show its true power when using SSE2-optimized software.

Getting back to the topic, Max Payne is a good game but gets boring really fast. I didn't really like the third-person POV and the way the bullets were so slow (except for the sniper gun which was instantaneous). A game like SOF had more of an impact on me. Speaking of which, I think SOF II was just recently released. I'll be picking that up really soon .

Never played Mater of Orion(1), but Master of Orion II rocks! I've probably logged more hours in that game than any other, save for Escape Velocity...

I hear Fallout is quite good.

But about Master of Orion, that was actually the first real PC game that I played. It was on my good old 386. It was a wonder that I got it running on that computer.
