I mean, a serious one... Ok the story line of the FF series may be good in some way, if you're generous in the way you think about it But really, I think that those rpg are a bit kitch don't you agree?I think it was... chrono cross. You encounter a "golem" that just look like a water boiler, and you strike your opponents with broom and fryers. Wow what an awesome game... :rockets: Or in the FF series, it was near to be a really good game but they HAD to put some things plain stupid and ridiculous in it! (I'm thinking about the chocobos...) It remind me of mario bros... you the game where you're a magic plumber and you kill walking evil mushroom by jumping on their head? These things are just gonna drive me crazy! Anyway, I still respect thise who like those games, they have all the rights to. Bu personally I would shoot those game on sight. So, anyone have some suggestions concerning a rpg that is serious ? Thank you (I wan't to make sure you understand that I've nothing against people that play and like those games, many of my friends like them! )<-= Ryuujin =-> - No signature, yet |

If you're looking for a realistic RPG then try a D&D game like Baldur's Gate 1 & 2.

I concur with everything above, particularly the Baldur's Gate series. I truly think it is the best CRPG series ever. I also reccomend last years incrdible Wizardry 8 (quite challengin though, if that bothers you). Also Deus Ex is a brilliant game, although it is an RPG with FPS elements. (It is not Quake though.)

hmm... i would define an rpg a game with experience points and a character who has statistics and whose statistics are increased with the increase of experience. Also many other things make up an rpg but im not sure if they're essentials... but, if youre playing an rpg... then you must be taking on the Role of someone... sincerely, Strider

under rated
any sqaresoft RPG is fab! i rate chrono trigger for its fabulous gameplay and graphics. chronocross is under rated because it didnt quite live upto chronotriggeras standards. the game should be rated higher that it currently is

...) But the game is AWESOME! It cannot even be compared to the Baldur's gate series, because you would say that Baldur's Gate is dull The atmosphere and ambiance in the game is really good, and reflect almost perfectly the Planescape world from the Ad&d boxed set.----- Quote:
I did this one time, it was great. ---- Quote:
It had been a long time I played though! If you're interested in RPG (REAL ONE!) and are not sticked to AD&D only stuff, try WhiteWolf (it's the company). They made a serie of 5 game (there are other but not as good) that can be mixed together. Mage: the Ascension is in my opinion the best one because it favorise the gameplay more than the other. There's Vampire the mascarade wich is EXACTLY like the movie Blade (It made me think that the movie was based on the game), Werewolf the Apocalypse (good too) and two others not as good ... Changelling the Dreaming and Wraith The Oblivion. The setting of these game are in the "World of Darkness" -> Our world in our time but with some strange things happening under cover (mage, vampire, ...etc...) Try to find some website about these one, you might be interested! In fact when I started playing WhiteWolf game, I litterally stopped playing AD&D ![]() <-= Ryuujin =-> - I'm in lack of stupid quote so I'll write what I see: "Do not boil" written on a "butter plate" made of plastic
