GTA going exclusive with Sony !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is awesome, now no one can convince me to buy a GC, unless given to me for free. I also read something about RE online for PS2 but didn't understand it clearly.

Here's the GTA news :

<url> http://ps2.ign.com/articles/360/360260p1.html </url>

and the RE news :

<url> http://ps2.ign.com/articles/360/360243p1.html </url>

Also GTA4 named as GTA Vice City is in the making.

This is gonna be awesome, now there would be no GTA for XBox and Xbox last chance has gone down.

GC is also becoming useless for quick game lovers.

that is kinda odd seeing that GTA 3 was jsut realesed for the PC and it said GTA3 would be a BS2 only game. For reason i don't think we are going to get along and if you don't why just ask around or look at my sig.

I never read that GTA3 would be PS2 exclusive. Before the release of GTA3, the Rock Star site stated that GTA3 will probably on all platforms, with release dates on PS2 and PC.

As far as SC2 is concerned, nope I never read anything about SC2 being exclusive. May be u should check your sources, more neutral sites unlike AntiPS2 or AntiSony sites.

I usually believe on news from IGN. It has great authenticity. OK I respect the fact that you had a problem with your PS2, that's bad, that's really bad. Even if my PS2 breaks before 2005, I am gonna start ****ing Sony and become a PC gamer only.

But its now 95 days of 3 hrs/ day operation and I usually use it roughly, a couple of time even throwing my controller. Still it works flawlessly. And here in Karachi there are often sudden power failures which is really damaging. It has damaged my HDD but my PS2 still works fine.

If 5-10% of PS2s are defective, that doesn't mean Sony sucks. I have even more support as I can get my PS2 repaired (if required) for as less as 10$. That's nothing.

No good games on PS2?????????????!!!!!!!!!
All the games that I ever wished for are on the PS2. Twisted Metal, Smackdown,Cricket 2k2 and GTA were alone enough for me to buy a PS2. I do OCCASSIONALLY play adventure or rpg's abd there is no shortage of these on PS2. Similarly, ports of PC games (which require higher specs than mine to run perfectly, Maxpayne, etc) on PS2 are aslo there. SO there is absolutely no shortage of GREAT games, at least in the genre I love, on the PS2.

Again PS2 is no N64 as fanboys call it, as PS2 has Sony behind its back; as Betamax says:

Superior marketing of an inferior product will always win over the inferior marketing of a superior product.

But again it is not nice to say inferior to PS2 but relatively comparing hardware, PS2 is inferiorer than GC or XBOX.

Anything else??

I play mainly rpgs and fps..fps belong on my comp and that is where they stay. There are not great rpgs for the BS2 FFX,
i will check my sources on the SC2 stuff..i don't go to antisony websites..I don't got o biased source for info..i don't like ign or gamestop becuase they are pay to read websites and say for the most part what the devoplers want to hear.

"Grand Theft Auto 3 and all future titles in the GTA franchise will be exclusive to PlayStation 2 until October 2004"
that is where it says GTA 3.

From cube.ign.com, "At Sony's pre-E3 2002 press conference earlier today in Los Angeles, California, the publisher said that Namco's upcoming 3D fighter Soul Calibur 2 would become a PlayStation 2 exclusive. Somewhat shocking news given that the title has been previewed for not only PS2, but for GameCube and Xbox too.
However, Nintendo denied Sony's allegations at its own press conference just a few short hours later. The company's Satoru Iwata laughed and said that as far as Nintendo knew, SC2 is still very much in development for GameCube. "There are several Namco employees in the audience you can talk to about that," he said, smiling.

Given Nintendo and Namco's strong relationship, which includes the recently announced Star Fox shooter for Triforce and GameCube, it's no big surprise that the two aren't exactly taking Sony's claims serious.

More as it develops."

The link: http://cube.ign.com/articles/360/360266p1.html

Looks like Sony is rushing for a good reason to buy a PS2, not that there aren't already a bunch, but they need to stop being big fat liars.

I am pretty sure that Resident Evil Online is real. Nintendo seems to be more interested in the real games, rather than the spinoffs. (survivor, online)

It looks good though. But I don't think that online games have a stroy and without a good story I don't know what'll happen to RE.

I played Resident Evil for Game Cube last weekend and I can honestly say I really liked it. Really creepy. Will there be a PC version?

I highly doubt a PC version. Even if it comes, you'll need a tight system for it. (I meant powerfull system )

All I have seen of GC are images and movie clips from IGN and I can't wait to c it in real. I wonder when the GC will arrive here.
The only two console here are the XBOX and PS2.

Last night my uncle came from Dubai, he brought a DC for me *sigh* I am planning to sell it off and get something else.

I may buy the GC and that's a big may, cos If I buy it, it'll only be about RE and that's that. I hope it arrives here soon.

Syed, the movies don't do the game justice. It is a really good experience, and I would recommend it to anyone. If you must, RENT a GameCube to play it when GameCubes are released there. It's a game that you simply can't miss out on.

A PC port is unlikely. The game occupies 2 1.5 GB DVDs, but could probably fit in 2GB. That's a grand total of 3 or 4 CDs, but that number is unrealistic, considering that the same levels must be repeated over so mnay times. Disc switching would be impossible. (On the GameCube, the only disc switch is when entering the last level).

A More realistic approach is to install the entire game to the hard drive, or provide it on a single DVD. Either way, a high end PC would be required. There isn't much possibility of seeing a PC port.

I am yet to touch a GC yet. I saw the XBOX. Donno but it looked cool. The gamepad was great to look at and also as my hands are a bit large I enjoyed it. I saw two games. WWE Raw and Fifa World cup. MAN! XBOX is damn pretty. But I'll buy the Fifa on PS2 and RAW is coming for PC. I sometimes feel sorry for XBOX.

I talked to my dealer about GC. He said you r the only one who asks me of GCs here. GC won't survive here. He stated a few reasons which I have hinted before and don't want to mention it.

He told me to wait AT LEAST AN YEAR OR SO. poof.
I can sell the DC for around 30-40$ but I'll probably give it to someone, like my cousin.

Now I need some info on the PS2. Like browsing the internet or something, how do I do it? Has anyone done that ? If so then please help me.

I think that the only game that goes online so far with PS2 is THPS 3. I am not sure how it works, but I am assuming that with the 3rd party modem available, you can play multiplayer with other people.

I am well aware of what most people think of Nintendo, and although it REALLY bothers me, I live with it. Just so long as you realize it isn't true, I am happy. About your retailer saying it won't survive though... I know someone in the UK (Sony fanboy), who is good friends with a manager for an Electronic's store. Up until about a month before the GameCube was released, his friend kept on saying that the GameCube would be killed. Not surprising (to me at least), the GameCube's launch was an astounding success. I wouldn't put too much stock in your retailer's opinion. He is for whatever reason, misinformed about the GameCube and its lineup.

Have you considered importing a Gamecube? If you have actually asked your retailer, I would consider that to be a step in the right direction. I am sure that you could buy a GameCube online from somewhere in Europe for a reasonable price.

I would seriously wait on buying the Xbox though. Its future isn't looking so good. The GameCube's controller is also very good, even if you have big hands. I'm sure that you know that the GameCube does have a good selection of games, even if the primary titles are not your style. Multiconsole games usually look and play the best on the GameCube, and most of the good games these days are multiconsole. You definately could not go wrong with a GameCube.

I really don't know why you would want to get rid of your Dreamcast though. I have often considered buying one myself. I strongly recommend that you keep it. Buy Soul Calibur and Resident Evil Code Veronica at least. I know you like those games.

I guess you forgot that I have a PS2 :P

I may get a GC after a year or so. That's for sure. Because by then I would have cleared my college and will have around 3 months of complete freedom, and there would be at least three REs by then.

I haven't bought RE CVX yet. I'll buy it on 29th of this month. For Soul Calibur, I'll like Tekken 4 better. There is no reason for me to keep a DC.

My cousin's BDay is on 27th. I'll give to him. There couldn't be a better gift than this as that guy is crazy to play next gen games and has a PS1 and a crappy PC. He usually hangs out with me at my place at the weekends just to play games.

Damn my papers, they'll end on 27th. And I am dead on track for an "A" infact A+
