Cool E3 2002

So far the most exciting things to happen are the Soul Calibur 2 news, and the newly released pics of Zelda, Resident Evil 0, and 1080 White Storm. Jedi Outcast is announced for GCN and Xbox. Rare seems to be sticking with Nintendo... In other news, Full Throttle 2 has been announced for PC. (YAY!)

The Soul Calibur 2 incident is quite funny. Earlier, Sony announced that SC2 was going to be PS2 exclusive. A couple of hours later, Nintendo had it's own conference, in which Soul Calibur 2 was announced for GameCube. Namco verified Nintendo's story. I find it funny to see Sony so desperate.

Zelda. It is a gorgeous game. What more can be said? Well, GBA connectivity is confirmed, (Most likely linking to Zelda: 4 Swords), and the combat system from OoT is still mostly intact with some refinements. You can now pick up an enemy's weapon. Apparently this is an important part of the game.

If you want to see it in motion, check this out.

Resident Evil 0 footage was shown also, but in fewer numbers than Zelda. Here's some screens.

Here's some shots for the 2D fighter fans among us.

That's all for now, but I'll get some more stuff later today. It looks to be a good year for Nintendo indeed.

[EDIT] added Jedi Outcast news, and fixed the zelda pics.

hehe... that pic of sakura is a little... revealing... quite frankly, the most exciting news from E3 that i've heard is that they are making a DEUS EX movie! Yeah, a Deus Ex movie, a movie based on one of my favourite games ever, and definately my favourite fps... i've always thought about a movie based on deus ex, i guess they've been stealing my ideas again, oh well. Anyways, this is good news for anyone who is a fan of the game, the producer is the same one as in the spiderman movie... so i guess they must've done something right if that movie is so popular.

sincerely,
Strider

Wow, A lot of good games are going to come ont soon. I'm getting excited even though I don't own a Gamecube. Anyways, Those Zelda shots look pretty good. I just don't like Link's look, everything else is good though. Resident Evil looks very good, thats for sure. And that 2D fighter, the backgrounds looks pretty good but the characters look a little pixelated. I guess that on a TV, it won't matter.

> Rare seems to be sticking with Nintendo...

Well, I don't see why they wouldn't. They are privy to exclusive information...

My only interest in this E3 is that every system is either rumored to have a price drop or already has or very well may soon. That doesn't mean I'm getting any, just saying that was my only interest. Street Fighter must be running into trouble if it has to resort to the sailor fuku obsessed crowd.

Zelda is looking as good as it should be, but I think that they should use L for the new "z-targeting" button and have Z be used as another item button.

RE0 looks great like RE1 does. When does RE0 take place again? I thought it took place after the mansion incident but my friend says it takes place during it, which wouldn't make any sense at all and wouldn't give fans much new things to do unless there is another part of the mansion thats another 5,000,000 sq. ft. big.

Didn't know SNK vs. Capcom was coming for GC!!! I've wanted to pick up one of these titles for my DC but i'm too lazy and I don't use my DC much for real games anymore.

Great shots. But, is that Link or Elroy Jetson? I don't like Link's new look at all. Oh well, it is up to Nintendo as to what they want to do.

nice screenshots

Zelda looks so cartoonish and Biohazard looks so realistic..

I must say Nintendo is rocking again and buying a GC is really worth the money!

Great screenshots.
There's no doubt about the new Zelda game being incredible but, why making the graphics so childish, they seem like a low budget cartoon, don't like this at all.
Resident Evil 0, can't wait to know the storyline. Hey Asz I guess this takes place before the incidents in the first RE

I personally like the new graphics and don't think it is childish. And, how do u define low budget cartoon? Because from the screenshots, i think the quality is quite high despite the fact that it is a game, not a cartoon. Btw, could u name few low budget cartoons? so i can compare them.

Alright, I'm tired of all the new Zelda bashing. This one is about Link rescuing his sister, plus link is young link, so big dark weirdness wouldn't make much sense if you played as a little 10 year old kid (not sure of his exact age. ). This seems to be more of a story about a little brother finding his sister is gone and doing something about it. Not some big buff 17 year old who finds his sister is gone and takes action, killing who knows how many monster and bad guys in bloody battles in order to find her. This one is to be taken a little more lightly, like the GB version of Zelda.

Thank you Asz.

I would just like to mention a bit about Resident Evil 0. From what I have been hearing, the game encompasses the events of Bravo Team from the first Resident Evil game. If you remember, Bravo team's bodies were discovered in the intro for Resident Evil. Bravo Team was the first group to investigate Racoon Forest.

Like always, Resident Evil is super. This game is going to be my all time favourite series.

What I dislike about this new zelda look is the lack of color. What I mean by that is not that it's not colorfull, but it's more that not enough different colors are used. Due to this the graphics indeed do look like a lowbudget cartoon. It's really fascinating what they do, but did it realy have to be Zelda? There's somethign about this new look that just repels me. Oh well. Just my opinion.

How about some 1080 screens? The long lost sequel to the N64 game.

Mhhhh...
Really want me to define what a low budget cartoon is??. IMHO, and at very personal level, the pokemon animation is one of them and is intended for kids, and for example is it comparable Runouni Kenshin animation with pokemon??, no! right?. Look the color pallete they use for Link with minimium color efects compared for example with OoT or MM Link as is still the same color or even more and has a lot of color efects.
As <Id> says and agree that there's something that repels.........
