Translation in FFIV~V~VI

Now, I heard many times how Square's translation of these games isn't that good compared with other fan translations of those SNES classics. I really want to get to enjoy them but I don't know what to choose....The PSX versions that have CG's or the SNES versions that have better translation?? Any ideas, people?
Does anyone know when the CG's appear so that I can play the SNES ones then go to a PSX str viewer and see the CG's?
Thanks for reading

the movies appear at the begginning and the end 2 vidoes per game...i think both translations are fine....check out zophar.net should have some of the translations that you are looking for.

I've played the SNES and PSX versions of FFV. To me, they are pretty much the same. Everyone say that the PSX versions "suck", but I just don't see it. I think the PSX version are every bit as good as the SNES versions. So, it is up to you which versions you want to try. BTW, I am not just speculating, I know. I have both the SNES and the PSX versions of these games.

The worst thing about FFVI PSX is the loading time when entering a battle. I would reccomend playing the Snes versions if possible.

The only difference I see is that the PSX version has "loading times". Too slow for some people who have grown accustomed playing them in zsnes.

I see. Let's get this stright, there r only 2 movies, the translation is the same and the only annoying thing is the loading time. Hmmm, can't "pc fps calculation" in Pete's plugins solve the loading problems?

I've also played both games and I thought the PSX version of FF V was bad. They changed some things (like the dash) and added some unnecessary junk (like that awful swirl effect for the battle transition). The FMVs are beyond notice to me (I'm not impressed by eye candy) and besides, I didn't like the look of the characters in them. FF V is one of my all-time favourite RPGs but I was sorely disappointed with the PSX re-make. I'd take the SNES version over it anyday.

Play the SNES versions. The swirls are just more annoying than you can believe. They prolong the game way more than it should. Also, the music is screwed up.

Here's what I would reccomend. Play the game in ZSNES, and rent the PSX version to extract the FMV. You get the best of both worlds. The FMV is quite good, but nothing groundbreaking.

Nameless, the "texture" problem is in FF IV for the PSX. There are black boxes around doors, but you can still play the game, you just have to over look this. Yes, using Pete's "PC FPS calculation" should help speed up loading times some.
Demigod, I just can't agree w/you on this one. I think they are about equal in all respects. As for the loading times, a cartridge vers. a CD Rom? What would anyone expect?

Final Fantasy V (Psx Version) translations sucks. The dialogues are crappy, there are like 3 translations around the net for the snes version and all of them are better than the psx version.
