mod = modification, quite obviously. counter-strike is a mod of half-life. it adds new textures, weapons. if u can mod a game, you can basically change everything in it (within the boundaries of the engine). Mods are usually free

im stuck in dues ex. i am not able to remove that msg box at the centre top of the screen. After an incomin transmission, a notice 'message awaiting....' appears at the corner of the message box and then after the message doesnt disappear. I want to remove this msg box, coz the biggest problem it causes is that I am not able to save. I cant quick save, neither when I click on esc and try to save from the main menu, the option is not highlighted. Could anyone plz tell me how to remove the message or reply to it, so that I can save whenever I want?

i had this problem too. but only when i got a rip version of it, that box doesn´t disappear because the game can´t find the audio files. i bought the game and all went fine

actually i believe the problem he said happened after the message was played, so i dont think its an audio problem, check if you have the newest patch by the way... oh and caipirinha, word of the wise, dont talk about ripped games and such on the forums

sorry. but it´s because this bug doesn´t exist. i played to death deus ex since it´s beggining and this is a known issue of that kind of version, the message displays, only the first but then they just keep pilling up without passing. look the faq at planetdeusex.com i guess i saw the explanation of this there.
