FF7 Theory

alot of people played 'Final Fantasy 7' and lots of people had their gaming hearts crushed when Aeris was murdered by Sephiroth. He must have had a reason to kill her. I don't think it was to edge Cloud on, he had higher priorities. Think about it, Aeris was praying/using her 'useless' materia. Apparantly it didn't do much, or did it? I think Sephiroth killed Aeris, because he wanted to take the planet back and to do so he had to keep it from being destroyed by Aeris's materia. She realized Sephiroth's plans and decided to let meteor appear if Sephiroth grew too strong. Cloud arrived just in time letting you think Sephiroth did it to **** with him.
Later Cloud fell into the planet's life stream, finding out who he is really. So he gives the black materia to Sephiroth releasing him completely. Aeris's spell kicks in summoning that big ass meteor. Sephiroth sets out to destroy meteor on his own by gathering energy from people and hanging out by the life stream 'n ****. Cloud realizes the true nature of what's all going on and goes with Avalanche to destroy Sephiroth. Sephiroth uses his last ditch efforts to get the life stream going when Cloud 'n the gang arrive to defeat him.
They emerge the heroes

i haven't played in a while though, and it's an old theory i had when the game first came out

I think you got it wrong.. Sephiroth was the one who summoned Meteor with the help of his fake mother and the black materia which they sought after in the first disk.. Jenova.. Which isn't really his mother.. He was tricked into thinking Jenova was his mother, but in actuallity, Jenova is the being that wanted to destroy the planet.. The lifestream protect the planet by gathering life energy to try and repair any damage to the planet..

Sephiroth and Jenova's idea was that if meteor hit the planet with a big enough damage, then all the life energy of the planet would gather and Sephiroth would be there to absorb all of it and become a god..

Aeris's prayer was for the magic HOLY.. It was suppose to come and protect the planet from Meteor.. Sephiroth killed her because of this.. Holy seems to be the lifestream.. It comes out at the end to try and protect the planet but I think the planet still suffered some major damage, but was all the people killed to become life energy?.. But Sephiroth was killed by Cloud in the lifestream so he couldn't finish his plan.. If you watch the whole credits, afterwards there are sounds of kids laughing.. Clueing in on the fact that indeed the world did survive and people lived on..

Jehova trying to destroy the planet in FF7? Now that WOULD be interesting. Jehova has nothing to do with FF7 as you pointed out, but that would certainly be more entertaining than the usual FF7 analysis.

it was Sephiroth who wanted to destroy the Planet
He killed Aeris coz she is the only one who can foil
his plan coz she is only remaining Ancient
Ancients have the ability to talk to the Planet
and the ability to harness its power
in my humble opinion, this idea was recycled in FFX
materials are solidified energies while Guardian spirits
are the material representation of energies
get the similarity hehehehehe

A movie? That would probably be a looooooong movie or you would have to cut out 80% of the story. It takes about 40 hours to complete the game, if you don't take extra rounds for chocobo breeding and stuff. Even if you say 75% of this time is "useless" fighting and running around, there is still 10 hours of real story. A typical movie takes 2 hours, even the largest productions not longer than 4 hours. Too short for FF7.

Well Jenova being 'the crisis from the Skies' had every intention to destroy/take over the world, till the Cetra contained it

Xeek, not really dissing u but that's a theory? It was pretty clear cut story for me IMO =p

Chrono Cross? Not a true sequel, but....
FFX is getting 2 expansions: Rikku and Yuna.
I think it's better that way. It gives them more freedom with the plotline, rather than having to tie in previous plotlines.

Well, IMHO, if they made a sequel to one of their games, using the same universe, they could make a lot more connections. As it is, the worlds seem kinda flat, with no sense that you're moving in a world that has its own flow, as opposed to waiting for you to initiate the next step in the game. I mean, look at ff9. As soon as you escape from Terra, from a roleplaying perspective, the logical thing to do would be to head straight for the iifa tree, right? How many people actually do this? Damn few. Most people want to play the sidestories. Meanwhile, the mist has covered the world and the iifa tree is consuming the souls of the planet(or so I understood it). Kinda callous to be waiting around when there's evil to smite.
