She is very close to the end of the game when you return to the main island.

Ahh yes with a super Ball you can turn Sarah into a monk as well.

Yeah, this is a great game. One of the predeceasors to Final Fantasy Tactics. I hope they make another sequel to this.
Anyone remember where you get the Vigor Ball from?

I know you can get it at 2 different places, only remember one..

In that secret elven town, in one of the chest thats hidden in the garden. You know where you cant see where youre going because of the trees..

Hope that helps, Im not too good at explaining in English

Ah, yes. Now I remember. Oh, BTW for anyone who waits to upgrage Kazin using the Secret book, don't. Use it on the guy you get from the mansion. He makes a better sorcerer, and Kazin makes a better wizard

You can use them to promote characters to better classes.
Warrior's Pride upgraded Jaha to Baron instead of Gladiator. Barons can use swords and have better stats.
Vigor Ball upgraded Sarah to Master Monk instead of Vicar. Master Monks have powerfull attacks, as well as the magic.... she also looks hot.
Pegasus Wing upgraded Chester to Pegasus Knight rather than Paladin. Pegasii can fly.
Secret book upgrades magi to Sorcerers. Sorcerers have summons rather than magic, and the summons are stupidly powerful.
I can't remember if there was another upgrade item...

so, there's the regular lv.20 promotion and the item that can be used? its coming back to me. i think i've played much more SF1, which is why i don't remember SF2 too well.

When you promote a character, you can either do it normaly, or use the special item.

I haven't been able to. Aparently there was an English version, but shops want around £50 (~$75) for it, if they can even get a copy.

Sega's English translation's pretty bad. Hopefully a translation group gets around to doing the second and third scenarios (a retranslation of the first would be nice, but I'm not going to hold my breath). Other than Shining the Holy Ark, SF 3 is my favorite game in the Shining series, and I haven't played the game when the story really gets rolling yet. Two's pretty nice, but a lot of the characters are worthless (especially the hidden ones, who are mostly wimps without a lot of training).

Shining Force CD is great! The remixed music is very nice (one of my favorite soundtracks, in fact). It also has quite a bit of replayability.
