RPG - Solving the secrets and mysteries
[MAY CONTAINS SPOILER]
Hello everyone. My inspiration to start this thread started last night after finished playing Xenogears for the third time. After all those hardworks, there are still some questions that I can't manage to find the answer. Well, maybe my English is not very good , but I understand the storyline. Just some things that still borders me. Okay, I go straight to the point. One of the question is: After many years, and after when through lots of tragedy, misery, sacrifices and killing, what is the real intention of Krelian? Somebody know?

That's a good question. The only thing I think anyone can agree about Krelian is that it's impossible to know exactly what he wants right now. Hopefully Xenosaga episode 4 will shed some more light. It seems to me like he felt betrayed by God when he (or she, can't remember what gender that religion had for the nameless deity) took away Sophia from him, and so he worked the rest (?) of his life trying to get revenge. I thought the rest of his blathering was just additional reasons for his efforts.

If I'm not mistaken, I remember his idea to 'create' god in one of the plot after Sophia sacrificed herself. Unlike Graph/Lacan who was pursuing true power, Krelian decided to take another kind of action, to show his disappointment maybe? So, I started to think why he kidnapped Elly? Why not just use Miang? Isn't she also has some connection with those 'Mother' thingy?

it's been so long since i last played Xenogears... but didn't he know Elly was next in line to becoming the "mother"? also, i believe Krelian was trying to create god because he didn't believe that one existed.

After Fei encountered the 'Wave Existence', I think he mentioned something about Elly & Miang, something about 'subject & complement'. I wonder what he meant by that. In simple words, 'Miang' exist in every women, and that includes Elly. And Elly was needed as a part to resurrect Deus, if I'm not mistaken. But for what purpose? Did I forgot anything?

It's not like the game tells you this, but it seems logical to me that if Fei can remember what Elly looks like from so long ago, so would Krellian (especially if my theory of Krellian's seething hatred for the death of his beloved Sophia is correct).

I think your theory is correct. Like Zephyr said, the death of Sophia changed the life of two men, and we surely know she meant Krelian and Lacan. Krelian was probably able to live as long as hundreds of years because of the nanomachine technology. And he ended up at the side of Solaris. Did the game mentioned how or why he ended up being with Solaris? He used to be with Nisan before Sophia's death though.

No, it didn't. He just sort of appeared there. Hopefully Xenosaga episode 4 will explain that. My guess is the ministry felt they could use his scientific expertise to help bring about their perfect world. Since Krelian knew Solaris had the greatest technologies at its disposal, it was only logical he'd play their greed in order to bring his own plans to fruition.

I've heard about Xenosaga, but did it have any connection with Xenogears? You know, the developer is different. If I'm not mistaken, it's Monolith & Namco, right?

Correct. However, the development team is more or less the same, including the incomparable Mitsuda for music. Xenosaga will be at least the other five episodes of Xenogears (assuming it sells that well), and looks to be my favorite series of all time, if the rest are even half as good as Xenogears.
My only concern is Namco's traditionally lousy translations.

The lousy translations, now that is a problem. We already know that Xenogears storyline is very complex, and I can't bear to think if they mess up with the storyline in Xenosaga just because of the translations. Why Namco?
I've just read a review of Xenosaga. Wow, looks like the first episode is gonna take place 10 000 years before the current time of Xenogears, that means at about the ship Eldridge crash to the planet. That's one set of saga that might be a masterpiece.

The developement team Monolith said that Xenosaga supposedly has nothing to do with Xenogears. No there can be two interpretations for this.
1) It really isn't. Compltetly different game. 2) THey can't use the same name for the game they used when publishing for Square. I personally would like to believe that it is the second one. Why? Because Xenogears is just so awesome. I hope they stick to similar ideas. Just to clarify a few questions and because their theories, ideas, and beliefs were just so awesome! THIS IS MY FAVORTIE ALL TIME GAME!!!!

For what Krelian ( male ) wanted to do. He wanted to unite with 'God' in order to obtain the ultimate power. Once he had his eyes set on this, there was no turning back as explained in the ending. He was so set with his mind to resurrecting 'God' that even if he wanted to come back to 'earth' now there would be no way for him to live at peace.
The person that flew into a rage when the mother died was Lacan, who eventually connected with the Zohar plant in order to become Grahf. Grahf, Lacan, and Fei's father are the same person. Then it is also explained that Grahf is part of Fei. How it works i have no clue, but supposedly Lacan was split into two human incarnations which are Fei, and Grahf. Grahf is also Fei's Father. I don't know if I explained it porperly but it is a whole mess of people.

Oh yeah. Lacan went to the Zohar plant to obtain the 'power' of the 'mother of destruction'. Which Id, me
, later alos tried to obtain. Whcih is when that whole epic battle appears where all the things i mentioned before are revealed, and Fei is reunited with himself and obtains 'Xenogears'. Myang is the person that you see in the intro, who is one of the only survivors from that accident on the space ship. The 'Mother' (Elly) is the person who will be the next line of Myang. Myang's purpose for existence is to get the Deus weapon to work. So in fact Elly becomes an enemy at a certain point of the game. I hope this clears up some issues. Some things might be explained wrong but I know in general terms what the story is about. Me and my friends had huge debates about this game.

it is a pretty complicated story, and not all of it is explained in the game itself.

Yeah but I don't mind since it isn't a pain to play it through more than once.

Yes, look at me. Play Xenogears three times and still can't fully understand the plot. Thank you very much. Your informations help me clear up many things that I have been confused. We know that in Xenogears, history starts for quite a long time, 10000 years to be exact. From what I've heard, Xenosaga series will be adapted from Xenogears, and the long timeline will be splitted to make different series. They might not take it directly from Xenogears, but it would probably happened in the same world. Well, what I hope is they would elaborate the story. We all know that Deus is a interplanetary invasion weapon that has been transported from 'other' planet. I would love to hear about the story of the 'other' planet as well. Our only option right now is to wait and see.
