I put my opinionin threads that are opinion based. Like this one and the FFX one. IF wasn't an opinion thread I wouldn't have put the posts that I did.

Well at least tone down the language. People may be getting the wrong idea.

Fine but my point on why I don't like the games are valid points and people should be aware of them. And the reson why I don't FF8 are like the battles, the drawing is borring, there is no real reason not to use gfs, and you don't want to use magic because your stat will lower you have to draw some magic the next battle.

Mention some good points about each game as well. Then it doesn't seem like you hate every game. Like in Final Fantasy VIII, The limit breaks were cool right? and some of the GF's were awesome. The Junction system wasn't bad.

ok. what i like about FVIII is: the gfs. the juction idea was good. I like some of the limit break but I liked having the limit bar instead.

The Junction idea in 8 is pretty neat, It's just boring after a while. You will draw for days and you can become god like powerful if you draw for 3 hours every 12 levels.

i didn't worry about drawing for the most part. i did fine just using the draw points found throughout the game.

If you draw a lot your charactors become godly powerful. I draw all the time.

My only real prob with ff8 was they made the G-forces so powerful you didn't need any strategy to just soar through the game

i didn't draw cause... um... i wanted to make it harder for myself. but i found the summons too long, which is why i pretty much only used Cactuar.

Personally, I liked FF8 the best on the psx.. The draw and junction system can be tedious at times, but remember that the higher your magic stat, the more magic you get at one draw(9 is max per draw).. 12 draws per each person and you have are full with that magic.. Plus, drawing is not the only way you can get magic.. I dont' draw that much in this game since I know certain items give me the magic I need.. That's what those refinement skills are for people..

You draw magic a lot at the beginning of the game, but once you get the refinement skills, you won't need to draw nearly as much.. Plus those two magic islands(or is it monster island) sure helps.. hehe..

For me, FF 8 bites big time, of course this is only my opinion. I did n't like the draw system, I didn't like the junction system, and I didn't like that card game, to confusing. Basically, if I got this title again, it would be just to complete the sereies. FF 7 is a good next choice because it has a good story line and characters you can end up relating to. Especially Cloud "Possible Spoiler" when he finds out who/what he really is. Another one is Aeris and what eventually happens to her (it's necessary though), and finally I felt for Red VIII when he discovers what happened to his father.
FF 9 is also a good choice due to the fact that it harkens back to the orignal FF 1 on the Nintendo. It might seem like it is more for kids, but, to me it brings back that "old time gaming goodness" that is lost in many of todays games. Also it has Vivi, and you can't help feeling sorry for him. I mean, "Possible Spoiler" someone who is doubting their own existance.
si_ok, FF 6 and FF 5 are both available for PSX in a double package called Final Fantasy Anthology and FF 4 (FF 2 in the USA) and Chrono Trigger are both available for the PSX in a double package called Final Fantasy Chronicles. Better start looking for Final Fantasy Anthology if you are interested in it because it is getting harder and harder to find.
No, it is not necessary to play the FF's in any order as the stories are entirely unrelated. The only character whos shows up in all the FFs, AFIK, is Bahamut the Black Dragon.
sincerely,
sx/amiga

What about Cid? He's been in every FF game to date (I'm not sure about FF1 though, haven't completed it), although he appears in different roles. He was even in FF TSW. Recurring espers include Shiva, Ifrit, Leviathan, Titan and a few others. There are also some recurring enemies such as Behemoth and Tonberry.

And of course the recurrence of everyone's favorite little critters: chocobos and moogles (ever since FF 6 Mog seems to be the unofficial mascot of the FF series). Plus there's a guy named Cid in every FF but it's a different character every time.

I never ised Guardian forces unless my charactor was low on HP, and I would pull one up to protect him.

I found them considerably weaker than a fully powered up charactor, As the fully powered up charactor could be a lot faster.

But it's just a preference

Ahhh! I gotta go play ff8 now. Buh BYE! =D

thats how it is with most summons in the FF series, with a few exceptions. the characters' attacks are stronger and faster, and on top of that, they don't cost any MP.

Cid wasn't in FF1, nor was, Cactaur, Behemoth, Tonberry, or an of the espers. Also there were no Moogles or Chocobo's in FF1. I am pretty sure this is correct because I have played and beaten FF1 and I don't remember any of them in there. The only one that was was Bahamut and in FF1 he was the King of the Dragons. You had to complete a task for him to prove your worth and then he changed you from Youths (kids) to Adults.

Final Fantasy Anthology ? well thats impossible to buy in Europe i think. But yesterday i bought Final Fantasy VII platinium edition. FF6 and FF9 will follow soon .. Sad is that FF6 PAL was released in PAL like month ago ! when you buy it,it includes FF X preview cd (for PS2 only though). FF VII also have preview disc, but for FF VIII.
