I've only played FF8 twice, FF7 twice (It'd be more, but my PSX version was pikeyed, and the PC version is buggy as hell), FF9 3/4 times. I've played CT twice through from the begginiing, but both times I went on to complete it again with New Game+.
I have too many RPGs to complete now to keep ding that tho. I'll be getting FFX and Dragon Warrior 7 in a week, and I have still to complete ToD2, Xenogears and a load of SNES RPGs

for some reason, i can't make myself play more than once an RPG anymore. it must be because i have other games to play. the last one i re-played was FF7 about a month or two ago. i had started Xenogears, but i moved on to Jade Cocoon, then Vagrant Story and now on Legend of Legaia.

i still have not played and finished Beyond the Beyond (probably won't), Vandal Hearts 2, Brigandine, and Grantream Saga that i just got from my friend. soon, i'll try to add Star Ocean, Valkyrie Profile and Grandia to that list and possibly Lunar.

The action doesn't change, but it is a challenging game. The action doesn't really change in most any game.
You could say that Quake 3 is "Running in and out of rooms, killing the same enimies". It doesn't detract from the fact taht it is a good game.

i dont really see what you mean. Quake III is a fps and most people buy it for its online quality, and it doesnt advertise itself as an epic story, with grand locations etc. Quake 3 is a simple game and is the same thing over and over again, but it doesnt pretend not to be. Im not saying Vagrant story does either, but it is an RPG and does advertise that its an epic etc, which it isnt in my opinion.

It does have a fantastic story, but it's an action/RPG.

vagrant story isnt just another RPG...
it is for people who get bored by FF games because theres not a moment of challenge and who can also play through any other RPG without a single problem, or lets better say, for RPG-experts
i remember the last boss of vagrant story as the only RPG-chalange i had in YEARS and i only discovered the qualities of that game after a break of two years, but now that im through 2 times i have to admit its one of the best RPGs on the PSX there is, a jewel, hidden in a big mudclump...

for RPG experts....in the 3 hours i played it in never found it any more challenging that the FF series, and i dont think that just because someone plays FF and likes that the best, that makes you any better at RPGs than those ppl

It gets harder. much garder. I thought it was really easy at the start, but then I realised I had naffed up my combinations when I was doing 1 damage to everything. It is still hard even after combining right. Some of the bosses have to be beaten within time limits.

yeah, i found it get harder too, but probably because the weapon system is complicated. you have to pay attention to the type of weapon AND the weapon's enemy preference, otherwise you end up doing 0 damage. i finished it, but found many long boss fights. luckily, the bosses don't have that much HP.
