How many times you have to use a skill to master it

In Tales Of Destiny 2, Reid's skills growth depend on two factors, thrust and slash. For example, to learn Thunder Blade, you need Lv 1 Slash and Lv 2 Thrust. Some skill are also needed to learn other skill and perform it at certain amount of times. For example, to learn Twin Sonic Blade, you need Lv 10 Slash, Lv 3 Thrust and perform Sonic Blade at least 50 times. There is no specific way to know about the quantity of slash and thrust, but you may know by looking at both bars at the status screen. The same goes for Farah, except she uses punch and kick instead of slash and thrust. And don't forget that there are other skills that need more than one skill performed, it called Sacred Skill. Example, the requirement to learn Sonic Swarm is: Lv 5 Slash, Lv 7 Thrust, Sonic Blade 25 times, Swarm 25 times.

Ahh okay So then my slash and thrust is this right

No, that's not it. That screen is where you adjust the AI of your characters. The status I meant is where you can see the characters' portraits. The bars located at the bottom.

Then if this is it how can you see what level it is

Yes, that's right. Notice the bars at the bottom. That indicates the current level of your slash and thrust.

i never really understood the slash and thrust either when i played the game. The thing that i couldnt figure out was how to level them up but as i played the game they just leveled up automatically

A slash is a normal attack and a thrust is done by pressing up and attack. That's why slash will most likely be the one you max out first, whether you intend to do that or not.

but will your slash and thrust levels go up when u slash or thrust during special attacks, for example. the thrust used when doing neosonic swarm

I think so. But don't worry too much about it. I played the game normally and keep the balance between each kind of attacks. Both slash and thrust level when up almost at the same rate, and it won't be a big problem to learn the skills. But remember that some skills need to be perform at certain numbers. And another thing about Farah: by the end of the game when she has mastered most of her skills, try putting her as the leader. This is because I've heard that one of her skill can only be gained if she was the leader of the party and won certain amount of battles (300 maybe).
