What's everyone's favorite genre?

This is probably a stupid thread/poll cause I'm sure most people will vote for RPG's. But if I REALLY think about it, I didn't necessarily ENJOY playing RPG's more, it's just that the average playing time for completion of an RPG is much longer than other genres of games.

In terms of overall hours of gameplay, most of which is enjoyable, I definitely max out in the sports category. From Double Dribble back in the day to NBA Jam to NBA 2k2. From NES PlayAction Football to John Madden's Football to Madden 2002. Both head to head and by myself, over the years, up to and including today sports games are really my pick.

This is going to be heavily biased towareds RPGs by the end of this I'd wager. RPGs are the only games I'd really go back to an old console for.... apart from the original bomberman. It is too cool 4player on ZSnes.

Hmm, there was another poll on this a while back...

Anyways, being a PC gamer my favourite would be FPS, which would go under the action category. A close second would be fighting games (2D, not 3D).

Hmmm.....I don't know. It's pretty much a tie between Sports, Action games, and RPGs. I just don't know what to vote for.

Someone likes Kid.
I'm not really sure which is my favorite type. to be honest, now that I think about it. I assumed that FF style were my favs, but that's just coz I've played more of them than anything else.
In all honesty, as long as the story grip me for long enough to get through any boring bits, I'm happy.

Storyline is an important factor for me too... sadly id give chrono cross' story about a 7/10 at best. It was too linear and it had too many characters to have each one be unique, too many loose ends were left at the end, and a lot of things were left unanswered... Anachronox is still my favourite of all rpgs even though it left some things unanswered (not many though) ... normally the game was designed to continue for like several more hours of gameplay but they ran out of funding so they had to finish the game early... which also explains the bad quality of lvl desing in the later levels...

I really hated the way that the adventure became pointless if you completed it 'properly', I mean Serge and everyone forgetting the adventure in it's entirety.

I have to vote for undecided cuz while RPG are sweet (and probably, in reality, edge out the action genre mainly cuz the action genre is so plauged by monotious shooters, whereas RPGs require strategy), I can't stop playing Ghost Recon and Max Payne. then, of course, there's RA2 w/ Yuri's revenge (sweetest expantion ever made, period.)

RPG because it lets you interact in a story and decisions you make effect the out come. Battles sometimes have to be strategic. So I'd have to be my fav
