yeah, but now adays, its almost impossible to lose to the computer. it was easier to die in the old SNES RPG days. now, theres only a couple of hard battles in each RPG (excluding strategy/RPGs)

its too bad RPGs have become too easy... but its kind of hard to put a skill factor into RPGs. legend of dragoon needed some skill, but thats about it.

I disagree, there is plenty of pontential for skill factor in rpgs. It isn't all about reflexes. The thing is, companies don't want to make truly difficult rpgs, because that wouldn't appeal to the general public. It is basically all about the common denominator.

But and rpg that's to easy won't leave you satisfied. If u are up against the neighbourhood bully as a final boss, or THE ALMIGHTY GOD OF DESTRUCTION!!!!

i'd go for that god and annihilate him. It's very rewarding. It was the case in lunar 2, which was quite a hard rpg. I hated when i was forced to level up so the enemy had no chance. I always level up insane, so the enemy has no chance. i go for those 1 or 2 hit kills, regardless of teammember.

Play star ocean 2, finish the cave of trials.
fight indalecio with limiter on. Rena (healer of the party) and celine(mage) did the fighing, my fighting characters didn't have to do anything. Indalecio got 1 attack to hit. It did 600 damage... AT MOST.....

whats the highest damage you can do regularly in the game with a fighter or something?

9999 but that is not the best.

i had claude with the slayer ring: 1 attack counts as 3 attacks so 9999 x 3 = 27998 or sumthing)

that's fun, but this was the real killer:
Angel armband. Each hit sends about 7-10 sparks which hit for around 600-1000, since could does 3 hits it's 30 sparks which could be send flying to the enemy.

if everything hits it would be about 27998 + 21 x 600 = 40598 damage. If the sparks weren't doing their full potential.

then there's something like that attack (40000 damage) with the cancel to mirror slice ( about 15 slices for 9999 damage).

WHEEEEY, that's why i like Star Ocean 2, u can make people insane strong. (unfortunatly, with these amazing stats, indalecio - limiter off is still a VERY though boss to beat.)

Emerald Weapon tough? or just tough? how many hit points does he have? i plan on eventually borrowing this game from my friend, and the way you describe it, it sounds like a good game.

Depends on what difficulty mode you're playing in. At the highest difficulty level, I've heard most people describe Indalecio limiter off as impossible to kill.

i'm so prode i beat it without cheating like I did in ff7 to beat 2 weapons, in ff8 i used an item called "hero" makes you inviscivible for 3 rounds, i only had one because I didn't use a walkthrough and missed the parts to get 10 more, but 1 is enough and hard, i remeber it took my more than 4 tries at lvl 60 to waste omaga, untima weapon is more than easy.

indalico limiter off has a LOT of hp, but the point is, he can run even faster than u. WAAAAY faster. and while he's running he can cast the BIGGEST spells u can think of. then there's something like the universe difficulty setting. That should make the game downright impossible. but it's worth the challenge though. And of course there's a lot of endings.

running? what kind of battle system is it, like Tales of Destiny?
if theres difficulty levels, does that mean that are clear game saves that you can use over and over?

The battle system is like tales of phantasia (never played destiny) but then only a 3d battlefield, where up, down, in the air, it's all possible. The difficulty levels are hidden, the increase the hp of the enemy somewhat. I believe a couple of times (100x if i'm not mistaken ).
The game is VERY addicting. and the fighting is cool too, with the skills in battle u get a message if a skill succeeded. With the above method i mentioned, with approx 30 attacks in 1 swing, i easily get 30 skills i succeeded in in 1 try, and then i start comboing. My records is still 143 skills consecutive, then the enemy died....

Tales of Destiny was the same system as ToP. a 3d version of that might be interesting. Is it done in isometric format?

I haven't played about half of those games. Secret of Evermore was a good game that I never got into. Quest64 was a waste of my money. Anyone want to take it off my hands?
