PSP questions
I'm considering buying a PSP (yeah, I know...this handheld generation is nearly over) but I need some sort of info on models. As I understand the ones being sold right now are the PSP-3000 and the PSP-Go, on Ys forums I read that you couldn't play Ys Seven on the latter due to some sort of compatibility issue or somesuch~. Is it a predominant problem? Is there any major differences between the two models beyond design~? |

PSP-Go doesn't have a UMD you can only get dlc and the fun part is that from what i understand the dlc could be more expensive then buying the umd .So i would say PSP-3000

Afaik all PSP games are region free. I thought that "no region protection" went without saying for all titles, they even sell American versions in stores here. But well, I think that your biggest drawback with the Go would be the absence of the UMD drive. You will depend on what Sony decides to offer in the PSP store. PSP3000 isn't the best model from what I heard though. Its screen has some bad aspects compared to the previous generations. Of course if you play on TV-out this doesn't matter, and perhaps it might be okay if you don't put them next to each other. Sony powerless to fix PSP screen problem • Register Hardware Sony "looking into" PSP-3000 screen interlacing problems

Ugh...that sucks since all the bundles I'm seeing are for PSP-3000 models, I guess it's time to treasure living in a third world country and see if the stores here still sell the old models~.

Whoah wb Lord Kaiser! I recommend the Psp 2000, do an ebay search for it. You can install a custom firmware on it, and dump your games to play them from your memory stick. Load times are faster plus some other benefits from using a custom firmware. A lot of homebrew plus some emulators. Let me know if you need help setting it up if you get it.

^^ What he said. CFW > the rest. Freedom to the people and all that stuff ![]() Especially since my entertainment is focused around my PC anyway, my original PSP can do "TV-Out" as well through Remotejoylite. Patapon on 24" widescreen ![]() Then again, I suppose you're aiming for portable gaming, I suppose the 2000 would be the best, since it's smaller yet allows for CFW.

But you got to be careful what PSP 2000 you get because some of them can't be used with the pandora trick. Well newer 2000's can use another trick but it blows compared the first ones that act like the phat ones. Also Tv-out feature kind of sucks because cord is short at least one i got. I bought my PSP 2000 on craigslist for cheap. Works great and payed very little for it. Ebay is good too but sometimes to expensive. And if your handy find a bricked psp or one with broken lcd and fix it.
