I guess the constant motion blur does do away with the low res textures of the backgrounds and paper thin trees.....to bad the gameplay bores me.

Saddens me to see you all judging a game on graphics alone. Games like that have ALOT of shelf life. By that I mean your gonna get bored really fast and its gonna stay on your shelf for a looong time.

Its a racing game, theres plenty of replay value so there is little shelf life, or atleast in my case.

If GT5 has online racing, its just another reason for me to buy a PS3 so i can play it.

And the GT series needs little gameplay improvement, the gameplay was perfected with GT4.

Well, the graphics aside, you can count on over 1000 cars from the major brands in the world, NASCAR mode, full WRC mode (it was partial in earlier games), full interior design for all cars, c0ckpit view for all cars, PlayStation Eye head-tracking technology, damage models for a couple of hundred cars, etc...

The game will render the interiors and even the drivers when you are not in c0ckpit view, and it will do so for all of the cars in the game. Or at least GT5P does so.

One thing I've noticed, though... is that the game only looks that good in 1080P, and when you have like a 22" LCD or so. Anything bigger than that or if it's not in 1080P then you're in for a sea of visible pixels and jaggies.

Maybe you're fan of Need for speed games that's why you find GT games boring.

People do need to justify spending loads of money on things that help their ego, you know.

Well for starters:

* Buying a PS3
* Buying a HDTV

Naturally, GT5 fits in that scenario. They need to somehow justify their purchase with a game that shows off their HW, don't they? Same goes for Crysis/whatever on thier i7/GTXxxx/4870 PCs.....

Sometimes owning something is like having a status symbol, its kind of like owning a console the day it comes out, or owning a hard to find (popular) console...

I agree. One could argue that buying a PS3 was an extremely smart choice now. When FFXIII comes out, Sony should recover some ground
