Need help or tips from experienced Disgaea players.
Just started playing this again PSP (the first one). Last time was on the DS but got tired of the grinding and quit after a 100 hours and never beat it. One of the biggest reasons was because my entire army sucked except for Laharl. I think the highest damage i reached was 10k or 20k but i see this videos everywhere and people reaching trillions of damage (literally). Wtf how you people do this? And the most curious thing is the level when they do this insane damage. Level 1... So what im saying is that i suck at disgaea and i need tips. I think i reincarnated laharl like 5 times but i see people doing it over 100-1000 times.

just level and upgrade items in the item world with your chosen fighters, i didn't bother with reincarnating until after i beat the game once.

It's good to have a few guys that are stronger. I kept Laharl Etna and Plenair my strongest when leveling. I found the most important is get your weak guys in on group attacks with all your strong characters. You can get a few levels a turn canceling the movement after the group attack and getting them in on one with another guy. As for the huge damage... need to find the rare items get the right item residents moved onto them then level them up. It's much harder to level in this one compared to disgaea 2. Disgaea 3 I found even easier then 2 to get the levels up.

Well... get your char to lvl 1000 or so. Beat the item world a couple of times, strengthen your equipments, then use those equipments to get even stronger equipments... you should notice the pattern by now. Then... when you get the absolute strongest weapon (and by this time, you should NOT have reincarnated any character at all), then you can reincarnate one character down to lvl 1 but let him or her have the best equipments, which would mean they can start whoopin' @$$es even at lvl 1. Then after a battle or two to get enough AP, reincarnate. Rinse and repeat until you are satisfied with your base stats. There are two ways to play Disgaea games: bruteforce... and brainforce. Most people who get trillions (and statistically speaking, I think the maximum is the limit that a 64-bit integer variable can hold) of damage would go with brain. For more details... err... consult FAQs. Chances are someone has already uploaded tons of videos on how to grind lvls in Disgaea 1. But more than anything, I find the Item World the ideal place for lvl grinding since you can get ridiculously powerful opponents in there (lvl 9999, ya?). I'm about 170 hours into Disgaea DS and I'm barely doing 2 mils of damage or so... but it will grow... in time...
