Anyone think that in the "PS3 can do anything" campaign they should point out that the ps3 can even used for research by various government institutions such as the airforce?

I laugh every time I see those commercials. It quickly scrolls to games, then blu-ray, then all the way up to everything. What more does it do than those two things?

Hmm. I'm personally not interested in folding proteins or researching military data.

I wanna play games, and for the life of the ps3 there has been nothing on that system that I wanted, that I couldnt get elsewhere, for cheaper. (And if on the PC, usually a better visual/audio experience.)

With games like heavy rain, GoW3, and uncharted fortune 2 being ps3 exclusives, and of course price cuts, I am willing to at least look in the systems direction.

Will I buy it now? Hell no. I just got a PS2 a few months ago, and combined with new PC releases I have more than 10 metric ass-tonnes of gaming on my hands.

Ill buy a ps3 when ps4s come out, and a decent library of games has been built up for the ps3. Probably about 6-12 months after I buy an xbox 360.

theory - the worse the console (not inc. games) is the more people who buy it.
alt theory - people are tight on money and buy the cheapest thing.

examples: n64 getting owned by PS
dreamcast
wii>360>ps3 slim>PS3 early
ps2>gamecube (debatable)

and PC getting owned by everyone although PC's are alot more expensive

That doesnt make it a bad console. It was excellent. It just couldnt keep up with sonys juggernaut of a marketing campaign for the ps2 and the massive fanbase.
