Digimon world1 Missing feature

Hello. I have been playing digimon world 1 but the last two days and somthin has really been getting to me. Its that i cant choose what technique he is going to use!!! In the original game it had Button when fighting to be able to choose your technique but now on this iso it doesnt? Can any1 plz help me
