Don't they refer to using the disk so they can install the game and play the trial version tho?
I know Criterion is a pretty kickass developer in general, but I doubt it refers to the full game. (It wouldn't exactly be a bad marketing campaign tho.) But based on what I've read, it does look like they are extremely trusting of players (which is nice to see).

Well, based on that kind of phrasing, I suppose they DO mean that you can install the game on multiple computers, over and over, and there's no DRM!

And yeah, they're very trusting. Plus this game isn't too expensive in itself. Cheaper for what I think it should actually cost. Hence why I got it for the PS3.

P.S.: Wait... I think I get it now. You can install the full game as the trial, and then you can activate it with the store feature in the game. The trial DOES seem like it's the full game without activation.

You should. And then spend like... the next few weeks trying to find all 40 billboards and 400 yellow gates. lol It's the first game where driving in the city doesn't feel boring. You can try all kinds of stunts and stuffs, plus you can study race tracks, find shortcuts, and route out the best strategy for a race. And if you ever feel bored doing all that, go join a Freeburn online session. It's the same thing but now you get to show off your pwningness with some crazy records.

Currently, I know that the world records of BurnOut Paradise are the following:

2800-degree flatspin
168(!?) burnout chains
6 barrel roll chains
300(!?) yards jump

Oh yeah... and the monstrous 112,000,000 stunt run points. ;p

I don't hold any of those... sadly...

On them being very trusting : I've been looking for what ports I need to open for the online to works "as intended" (right now, I can't read the news, and I can only join one game out of every 4 attempts, so something is not right). The search I used was "burnout paradise pc online firewall" (pretty basic search), the first results talks about how the game works online even if you pirated it. The only thing you need to play the game (online) is a free EA account, no need for anything else.

So yeah, they are VERY trusting x_x. (I guess it could be interesting to look how many sales they have after one month vs the number of account who played the game online.)

Well, this game sold like crazy on the consoles, so I suspect they could even give it away for free on PC if they wanted to. It wasn't branded as the best racing game on PS3 for nothing. Even GRID didn't have a chance against this.

Anyway, if you can't get online, then don't bother. Go beat some races and upgrade your license. Get some cool cars before you go online, or you might be overwhelmed.

I mean.. by the time I got online, my car was like... what... a mere starter car (Hunter Cavalry) with those stats. Everybody else was using cars with maxed out or close-to-max stats, and I've only been able to get them by almost the end of the game.

Mmm... depends on your taste? Mostly Super cars with sleek curves and average stats.

There's also a WTR in the game...

And for cars that can do damages, you can try vans and trucks. Sadly no bus or firetrucks... I was expecting them... but maybe it was just me and my Midtown Madness crave.

All made up. I don't think they want to say... make a pretty Nissan 350z and then let it crash to dusts... because each and every single car in the game can be deformed to the point they're half their length and width. Literally.

That's with doors off, wheels smashed, and the entire frame squeezed. A crash in BurnOut Paradise really does feel like a crash. And the damage model is much more intense than any other game.

I'm not a great fan of racing games, but you sound very enthusiastic about this game. I'm seriously thinking about getting it.

Really? ;p

Oh yeah, and just found out... the legendary cars coming are going to be even faster than the current ones, because they lowered the standards a lot, leading to the F1 having like HALF of its speed specs now.

There's no such thing as a living being on planet BurnOut. ;p I mean... there're only cars, and wreaks. Well, wreaks turn into cars and cars turn into wreaks to be more precise.
