No save support on NES games playing on the Wii?

You can only freeze the game when you exit? Exactly how did they break a NES emulator? Their SNES emulator is better by a long shot. I just picked up Super Mario Bros 3 as paying $5 sounded better than paying $20 + shipping for the real cartridge, WTF?

Secret of Mana and Zelda: A Link to the Past play much better. The have RAM and you save to it, but you can't do that on Super Mario 3? Exactly how is that emulation?

Sheesh...

Just pause the game and exit it as usual?

You're missing the point, Super Mario 3 has battery backed up RAM, if this emulation was correct, the game should save at the mid castle and the ships at the end of the levels.

If this is emulation, why are game saves not supported?

Wrong I just today picked it up for $14AU (which inclused P&H) which is about $9.30USD for the original cards are always such a better choice than emulators on Wii I think. Hit the flea markets you pick up most titles for 5-10 dollars.

It works fine for me, dunno why you're having probs. Paratech. Just save in-game and shut off the Wii, it should still be there when you come back.

Super Mario Brothers 3 DOES NOT have battery backed up ram.

If you were playing it via Super Mario All stars however.....

Squall is correct, Nes Super Mario Bros. 3 did not have backup battery ram/save. I remember having a grip each time I turned the console off because I'd lose all my data/progress if I did..

All-Stars for the Snes supports battery backup ram/saving, but not the Nes versions of the games.

I believe from what I remember that Zelda 1 and Zelda 2 along with very few other Nes titles supported battery backup ram/saving..

Cartidges with battery backup tended to be silver, or gold/yellow in the case of the Zelda carts, though they did come in Grey, and games like ShadowGate(Nes) had backup as well.

....at this point, i don't even know if my Zelda II cart still works...

You can easily put a new battery in. The battery itself (a coin cell) is relatively inexpensive

A lot of my carts use to rattle, get your needle nose pliers in there and tighten up your game cases.

it wasn't functional.... courtesy of the retail connector destroyer, aka Game Genie.

careful application of a screwdriver and several sewing needles fixed that though.

Yeah, I guess emulation and the Super NES version confused me on that issue. It's been a long time since I played the game on a NES.

Thanks for the feedback.
