halo 1 on hnet book
Basically the eee, with an acer name on it, the Acer one, looks good on the 9" hd monitor at 1024x600. But on my 19" hD it looked terrible at 800x600. THe graphics had to be turned down too since theres not a lot of vram since he hasnt added more reg. ram. (plugged laptop into my monitor and speaker system, with my wirless keyboard and mouse)

Not like EEE? But yeah... Acer Aspire One...Mmm... anyway, Halo 1 is playable even on a Celeron M and stuffs... but I think you have a better bet at getting FEAR to run smoothly. Halo 1 lagged my system almost to death at some point.

But the resolution was a killer. for vid. settings, it was at like 800x600, no specular and no decals. (just un-needed blood and shinyness of guns) didnt reallly lag at all when i played.

Then that's cool. I recommended FEAR because with FEAR... you can tweak out most physics aspects, get shadows, shiny guns, glittering water, cool explosions and everything and the engine still runs smooth.

hmm. I didnt think the small little thing could take on fear Ill tell my bro and have him bring it back over, since i have his fear game, try it out. Although i think he needs to add a little more ram. Its only got a gig so the vram is a little low. see what happens with it though, may post screenies.

id keep soft shadows off if i were you, they dont look right in that game anyway and they killed my previous system when i tried it with them on. the rest of the effects are not too bad on the performance though.

They're about the same on systems with integrated graphics controller. ![]() But anyway... yeah... F.E.A.R. runs much better than any fps I've tried thus far. It's only less smooth than Quake III or Counter-Strike 1.6. Otherwise... it looks much more awesome than any other. Only annoyance is that without patching the game, you might get stuck at the beginning, which was more of a bug/glitch than something to do with your hardware.

I know. Least it runs smoother than Halo for me. And if you compare how much you have to dumb Halo down to FEAR, FEAR would still look better.
