Although I finished DMC4 on my onboard GF7050 the game ran smoothly, even the lowest graphics was nice to look at. I still have to play the game on my 9500GT.

The problem is that RE4 PC did not even come close to its console counterparts in terms of quality.

In fact, there was a thread made here a few years ago that was targeted at this. Search turns up no results for me, but it was called something along the lines of "Resident Evil 4 PC: A bad port of a great game." Can anyone manage to dig that thread up?

I can't say Devil May Cry 4 looks better on the PC than the PS3, but it looks great on my PC in 1024 X 768.

Well I can say for sure it does , 1280*1024 with 4AA in DX10 mode
that is better than current PS3 grafix

Ah... nope. Sorry to disappoint you. Some effects were lost in translation, and in the end, I think DMC4 PC still had some graphics bugs such as... no shining glaciers and ice patches, and low-poly effects even if the settings were set to be at their highest. I got a chance to try both the demo and full game with both ATI and nVidia cards and the same bugs persist. DX9 or DX10 mode didn't do anything... except for better color management on DX10 mode.

But because not like you see those effects all the time except for when you're fighting certain enemies and/or it's in certain cutscenes, they are minor enough to tolerate. (truth remains that the console version still has better-looking effects, though)

And 360 wins because it has all effects... plus some nice AA. PS3 comes close, but still a bit of tearing. Though PS3 has the best color management. Beating even DX10 on PC. 360 is like a blend between DX9 and DX10. PC had some stuffs dumbed down, buggy/glitchy/non-existant effects at some points, and really bad color management in DX9 mode, which was a shame, and which might be the reason why the PC version of DMC4 ran so well, but hey... at least it wasn't like RE4.

Thanks a heap for the link jonc, had a bit of a look through and I am incredibly impressed with the ENB series addition to RE4. Can't wait to try this bad boy out. The depth of field looks quite stunning and the motion blur looks damn cool.

indeed i found that a few months ago and the stuff in there can really top the GC version now. too bad ubisoft isnt as dedicated as the mod community is to giving us our monies worth because since then i have refused to buy anything of theirs. hopefully RE5 wont be botched by whoever gets the job because im really looking forward to it.

this is just the one is the one that did it for me, it was something i was really intrested in and they totally butchered it. if it was to happen again with whoever ends up doing the RE5 port im going to be stabbing some fools.
